Kelly Ripa’s Husband, Mark, Says She Was ‘Worst Decision’
It was not the easiest time when former All My Children stars Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos first met up. They were very much in love but ended up calling it quits. Then, they reconnected during a Live appearance, and the rest is history. The couple eloped in 1996 and has been happily married ever since. Mark and Kelly have welcomed three children and he now co-hosts alongside her on their hit morning show. Before Mark, Kelly sat alongside Regis Philbin, Ryan Seacrest, and Michael Strahan. However, Mark would always sit in when a co-host was out, so he was the natural choice when she needed a new counterpart.
They have worked very well together and are now moving to a new studio downtown. This is a major switch as so many memories are in their old studio, but it was time for a switch up. With the studio comes the aforementioned reconnection of Mark and Kelly. When they first started dating, they decided to end things. Then, a blessing in disguise came in the form of a Live appearance. They were surprising guests, but the two tried to get out of appearing as the breakup was new and raw. Yet, the moment Mark saw his ex, he knew he had screwed things up big time:
“Obviously, seeing her it was like, ‘This is the worst decision of my life. I have to be with her forever.’ And I asked her to marry me and we flew to Vegas the next day.”

The only regret Mark has said from the elopement was that he never asked Kelly Ripa’s father for permission. Obviously, it has been nearly thirty years, but he still thinks about that one time he did it all wrong.
Moving On & Up
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos work very well together, from All My Children to Live with Kelly and Mark. However, big changes are ahead, and fans are anxiously awaiting the new studio reveal. In the meantime, they are not happy that the show has taken an extended hiatus. It has been three weeks since a new episode aired, and there are a lot of questions surrounding the absence. However, they start filming on April 7th, and the new studio will be unveiled on Monday, April 14th. The goal was to renovate during spring break, but it has since gone over. Fans have become very emotional over the change after a studio tribute aired:
