Kellie Pickler Retaliates Against Estranged In-Laws Amid Bitter Feud
Country singer Kellie Pickler is at war with her former in-laws as they navigate the aftermath of her late husband’s death. In early 2023, Kyle Jacobs tragically took his own life, devastating loved ones and fans alike.
Now, his surviving wife and family members are embroiled in a legal battle over his estate. Neither party seems willing to give an inch.
In a new update, Kellie Pickler has reportedly made new demands in the ongoing court case. Read on to see what happened with the family.
Kellie Pickler & Her Late Husband’s Family Can’t Come To A Peaceful Resolution
According to court records obtained by In Touch Weekly, Kellie Pickler and her in-laws don’t seem any closer to achieving a resolution.
The publication reports that on March 28, Pickler “demanded a judge block her former [in-laws’] subpoena demanding she give testimony, along with turn over her late husband Kyle Jacobs’ property.” She also allegedly rebuked her in-laws for trying to have her found in contempt.
Kyle Jacobs’ parents, Reed and Sharon Jacobs, demand that Kellie Pickler return certain items belonging to their late son. They’ve accused her of refusing to comply with their request. Since then, the case has been a vicious back-and-forth between Pickler and the Jacobs family.
In Touch goes on to report that Reed and Sharon Jacobs filed a subpoena against their former daughter-in-law, requesting the courts to rectify the situation. They want the courts to hold Kellie Pickler in contempt for failing to comply with the subpoena.
In turn, Pickler filed her own petition, but the results are still to be determined. In her own filing, the singer argues that she was never ordered to comply with the subpoena by the court, so there is no legal ground for her to be held in contempt.
The Singer Refused To Bring “Unsafe” Items Under Dispute To A Lawyer’s Office
Although many fans feel saddened to learn of the family’s turmoil, several understand that Kyle Jacobs’ untimely death was bound to spark difficult feelings among his surviving family.
Many of the items that Jacobs’ parents wanted returned were weapons, including guns and swords. They requested Kellie Pickler deliver the items to their lawyer’s office, which she promptly denied. Pickler deemed the items incredibly unsafe to bring to an office in any capacity, defending herself against their non-compliance accusations.
Pickler continues to argue that the parties are still disputing many of Jacobs’ personal items. Sadly, it seems that this legal debacle might get worse before it ever resolves.

Kellie Pickler’s Instagram page has been largely inactive over the last few years. But even so, many fans comment on old posts, wishing the family peace during this difficult chapter. In the end, many just want a peaceful resolution so they can continue mourning Kyle Jacobs in a healthy way.
