Tragic breaking news for American Idol fans as Kellie Pickler’s husband, Kyle Jacobs, was found dead at the age of 49. The Nashville Police Department confirmed he was found dead today (February 17th) in an official statement with People Magazine. Has Kellie Pickler’s husband’s cause of death been revealed yet? Speaking to People Magazine, Kellie Pickler’s husband’s cause of death is believed to be suicide. More specifically, he was found dead at a home in Nashville with “an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.”  The Nashville Police Department confirmed in their statement his death was being investigated as “an apparent suicide.” 

Speaking to authorities, the Dancing With The Stars and American Idol alum said that she was unable to find her husband shortly after waking up. Kellie, with her personal assistant, called the police when they discovered a door in the home they were unable to open.

A closer look at his career

Kyle Christopher Jacobs wore many hats as a musician that included being a country music songwriter, guitarist, pianist, and vocalist. In 2000, he relocated to Nashville from his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota. One of the more notable credits on his resume includes writing the Garth Brooks’ 2007 hit called “More Than A Memory” as well as “Still” by Tim McGraw.

Over the course of his career, he worked with tons of noteworthy musicians including Randy Travis, Scott McCreery, Kelly Clarkson, Josh Kelley, and Clay Walker. He earned many awards over the years including a CMA and an ACM. He was even a Grammy nominee.

Kellie Pickler and Kyle Christopher Jacobs got married on January 1st, 2011. The couple never had any children together. Kellie and Kyle started dating in 2008 and got engaged in June 2010. She described her Florida beach proposal from Kyle as a “spiritual moment.” And, she admitted they would have gotten married immediately after if a preacher had been on that Florida beach where he proposed at the time.

Fans of Kellie Pickler and her husband Kyle Jacobs are absolutely heartbroken over his passing.
