A new season of Bachelor In Paradise is coming this summer. A former contestant in the ABC franchise spilled details on the shady casting process for the spinoff. Keep reading to find out how the show producers create the drama viewers see on TV.

Bachelor In Paradise Season 10

ABC yanked the popular Bachelor In Paradise spinoff from the schedule in 2024. The network never explained the reasoning but fans think it was because of poor ratings for Season 9 in 2023. The first-ever season of The Golden Bachelorette aired in the fall time slot usually held by BIP.

After a year of reworking the spinoff, ABC is ready to bring it back. Viewers can’t wait to see who will show up on the beach. In a surprising twist, Season 10 will include contestants from the first Golden Bachelor and Golden Bachelorette seasons.

The spinoff will reportedly start filming this month with a summer premiere date. However, the full cast list – rumored or confirmed – hasn’t come out yet.

Alum Spills Shady Way Producers Cast BIP

In recent years, former contestants in the Bachelor franchise have been exposing the dirty tricks of the producers. Many alum have spoken out about the bad edits they get on the show. But according to one former contestant, the producers start the manipulation as early as the casting process.

During a recent podcast appearance, Autumn Waggoner spilled on the Bachelor In Paradise Season 10 casting process. She was a contestant on Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor. Autumn went home in Week 5 but was contacted by producers to possibly join the upcoming BIP season.

After leaving the show, Autumn sparked dating rumors with rapper Young Gravy but it seems she’s single now. She opened up on the podcast about the casting process for Bachelor In Paradise.

According to Autumn, producers asked her to write a list of former male contestants she would like to see on the beach. That’s nothing unusual. However, she was also asked to make a list of former female contestants she doesn’t want to see in Mexico.

She claimed that she refused to make the second list and hasn’t heard back from the producers. Autumn also said it was strange that shortly after giving her list to the producers, some of the men on the list contacted her on social media.

As viewers know, it was a big issue on Season 7 when it was revealed that Brendan Morais and Pieper James were already in a relationship before the show. Autumn also claimed that the producers already had storylines for BIP ahead of the casting process.

Franchise Under Fire For Tactics

The break between seasons 9 and 10 of Bachelor In Paradise wasn’t the first time the show stopped production. Season 4 was paused in 2017 amid allegations of sexual misconduct between Corrine Olympios and DeMario Jackson. The show finished filming the season without Corrine or DeMario.

Even successful couples on BIP aren’t immune to producer manipulation. Mari Pepin revealed the truth about how the show can edit entire conversations to make the contestants look bad.

Does it surprise you that the producers create drama among the women on Bachelor In Paradise with lists of who they don’t like? Sound off in the comments.
