The Bachelor franchise was the center of a huge scandal in 2021 that led to host Chris Harrison leaving after nearly twenty years. Now he seems to have gone MIA, ditching his longtime fans. What’s going on?

After years of promising viewers “The Most Dramatic Season Ever,” Chris Harrison finally delivered. But the real drama happened off-screen. He was the host and face of Bachelor Nation since the franchise debuted in 2002. But in 2021, he found himself at the center of a scandal amid the racial reckoning in the U.S.
The show finally cast its first Black Bachelor lead that year with Matt James. But the historic moment was overshadowed when past photos of Rachael Kirkconnell attending an “Old South” antebellum-themed college party were posted online. Rachael was a frontrunner on Matt’s season. They stayed together through the scandal but recently broke up after four years together.
Chris Harrison came under fire for an interview he had with former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay. He tirelessly defended Rachael during the interview. Many viewers were also unhappy with the disrespectful way he spoke to Rachel Lindsay during the interview. The situation snowballed. ABC initially only temporarily replaced Chris Harrison as host, but he ultimately decided not to return.
Former Bachelor Jesse Palmer took over hosting duties and has finally won over most fans.
Harrison didn’t say much about his exit until 2023, when he debuted a new podcast. He promised to spill all on The Most Dramatic Podcast Ever. But a new episode of the podcast hasn’t aired since December 2024.
Fans took to social media to discuss Chris Harrison going MIA. According to one fan, they contacted iHeartRadio and were told the podcast was canceled. Chris Harrison hasn’t officially addressed the supposed end of the podcast.
Fans Blame Him For Ruining Lauren Zima’s Career
Many listeners were disappointed in the podcast. Chris Harrison promised to address his exit from the franchise, but never really talked about it, likely due to an NDA with ABC.
He co-hosted the podcast with his wife, entertainment reporter Lauren Zima. The couple met when she was a reporter with Entertainment Tonight. They were married in late 2023 with two weddings. Many Bachelor Nation stars attended the second ceremony in Texas.
She left ET that same year. One fan accused Chris Harrison of ruining his wife’s career. “CH tanked LZ’s career when his tanked, and i think it’s going to be almost impossible to recover from it,” they wrote.
Latest On Chris Harrison’s Show With Dr. Phil
In addition to the podcast, the former Bachelor host and his wife were supposed to make their long-awaited return to TV. They signed deals with Dr. Phil’s Merit Street Media television network.
The two were supposed to star in a morning show together. The former Bachelor Nation host was also creating a new dating show for the network. Both shows were supposed to debut in late 2024.
There haven’t been any announcements or movements relating to the shows since the initial announcement in March 2024. Chris Harrison’s new shows may still be in the works, but with his podcast going off the air, it’s not looking good.
