‘Love After Lockup’ Joey & Michael Still Together?
Is Love After Lockup couple, Joey and Michael still together after filming ended? The two were very hopeful upon Michael’s prison release for drug trafficking. Yet, did they last or call it quits? Keep reading to find out where they currently stand.
Love After Lockup Joey & Michael Still Together?
Joey and Michael first appeared on Love During Lockup and they quickly became fan favorites. Of course, Joey’s family was worried about Michael once he was released. They did not know if he would go back to his old ways or if he could stay on a good path for love. The couple’s story is carrying over to Love After Lockup and viewers are anxiously awaiting what will happen between the two of them. One of the biggest struggles, aside from Michael’s reacclimating to the outside world, is that he and Joey are both recovering addicts. Therefore, they will have to help each other stay sober.
As much as fans want to know what will happen with them, the sad part is neither one has social media. Therefore, it is extremely hard to keep track of where they currently stand. At the same time, things are looking less than promising for Michael and Joey’s future. The duo had been together before Michael’s incarceration but Joey was nervous things would not be the same when he got out. They had only been intimate when they were high so sobriety could take a toll. Fans are fearful of that as Michael was the reason for Joey relapsing in the past.

- OMG, when he admitted to throwing away 12 years of sobriety just to send off his bf to prison with a party weekend, was absolutely heartbroken for his family. You could see horror in both his father’s & brother’s eyes, them both being in recovery themselves and the rest of his family (who suffer along with addicts every step of the way). I have a gut feeling this isn’t gonna go well…
A Bad Ending
Many others felt the same way about the couple’s fate amid Love After Lockup. They appeared to be more concerned for Joey than for Michael. It seems Michael might be the one to drag Joey down. No one wants that in any capacity:
- Oh he’s going to get hurt so badly 😢
- This is gonna be bad
- I like Joey. I hope his boo doesn’t bring him down
- Poor Joey. Michael has been taking him for a long ride, and not the kind he was hoping for either.
There were fears about Joey being run down by Michael and that the latter did not want to be in a monogamous relationship. However, it cannot be forgotten that Michael was arrested for a parole violation in the summer of 2024. Fans who saw this really hoped that Joey was with someone else and away from the drama when the arrest went down. Again, where they stand is unclear so fans will just have to watch it all play out.
