‘Good Morning America’ Considering Canceling One Of It’s Shows

There have been a lot of bad things happening with Good Morning America recently. Several people working on the show behind the scenes were laid off. Fans showed anger about the hosts’ contracts while regular people were losing jobs. Now, it sounds like GMA might be axing one of its shows.
Here is what you need to know about the possibility of GMA losing one of its shows and why fans are worried it is going away.
Good Morning America Losing A Show?
There are new rumors that the recent Good Morning America layoffs are leading to ABC canceling one of its flagship shows. ABC cut several jobs to save money and rearrange the structure of the news division. However, there are new rumors that Good Morning America 3 might face the danger of getting canceled.

The site that first reported all the GMA layoffs (Status News) has now added some information to the initial reports. ABC reportedly laid off almost the entire Good Morning America 3 staff and even fired GMA3 executive producer Catherine McKenzie. This led to fears that Network chief Almin Karamehmedovic might announce the show’s cancelation.
This led to ABC placing Simone Swink, executive producer of top-rated GMA, in charge of overseeing all the branded programming across the different time slots.
However, there might be some good news. A source told the New York Post that the show wasn’t going anywhere. “ABC News has no intention of doing away with ‘GMA3,’” the source said. “The hour is not going away, the show is not going away and the anchors aren’t going away.”
Eva Pilgrim and DeMarco Morgan are anchors on Good Morning America 3. They replaced T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach because the two were let go after their affair became public. Robach was married to actor Andrew Shue, and Holmes was married to attorney Marilee Fiebig during their extramarital affair.
What Has ABC Said About Good Morning America Cuts?
Network chief Almin Karamehmedovic held a town hall meeting at the new headquarters to discuss the recent moves. Additionally, with dozens of employees fired, which was among 200 cuts for Disney Entertainment Networks, he wanted to ensure people that there was a reason for the decisions.

“The entire industry has been challenged, and restructuring the way we operate has, unfortunately, had an impact on some of our colleagues,” Karamehmedovic said. “As we look ahead, our mission is simple: straightforward journalism.”
In addition to adding to Swink’s duties, ABC also promoted Seni Tienabeso to vice president of ABC News Live. He will focus on digital streaming news services. Additionally, ABC also plans to put ABC News Studios, 20/20, Nightline, and Impact x Nightline under one leadership umbrella.
