Al Roker’s Wife, Deborah Roberts Says Goodbye After 30 Years

Journalist Deborah Roberts, spouse of famous weatherman Al Roker, recently shared her “goodbyes” in a recent post on social media. Notably, she touched on her decades of work and the faces she’s encountered over the years. Fans also shared their reactions with Roberts.

Roberts is known for working with ABC News. Beforehand, she worked with NBC News in the early 1990s before moving to ABC News for 20/20 in 1995, becoming a co-anchor in 2023.
ABC has served as a cornerstone in her career over the years. Notably, she has even served as a guest host on The View. In her personal life, however, Roberts is also known for her marriage to Al Roker, with the two tying the knot in 1995.
Recently, on Instagram, Roberts shared a post marking a recent change concerning her career. The journalist revealed ABC News is moving from the Upper West Side to Hudson Square.
“Friday finish. Nearly 3 decades after I first set foot in the ABC news headquarters as a new correspondent, the youngest to join the 20/20 team, we are officially saying goodbye to the building.”

As Roberts continued, she noted the variety of names she had the privilege to work with over the years. She shared, “The place where network TV legends walked the halls and delivered the news. I was thrilled and a bit nervous to join Barbara, Hugh, Peter, Carole, Joan, Charlie and a cadre of inimitable correspondents. What a moment.”
However, Roberts assured this was a new beginning, not an end. As she noted, “Now, a bright, shiny space awaits us downtown to continue the great work we all love so passionately. Change and goodbyes are always hard for me. I am comforted by routine and the familiar.”
Roberts concluded the post sharing, “But change is the only true certainty of life, right? So here we go… making new memories.”
The carousel post shared Roberts pointing to the ABC logo, a group photo of Roberts with her co-workers, and a video of her saying goodbye. She could be heard saying, “That’s it. End of an era. Moving along.”
