Fans were sad to see her go. However, they understand that she needs to put her career first. Carrie Underwood was who they had in mind as her replacement. Carrie won American Idol. She is the first judge on the show who has also won the show. Fans were excited for her to be a judge since she has insight that no one else does. This gives her an advantage when it comes to giving the contestants advice. Now there are two country artists as judges on the show. She is alongside Luke Bryan.
Megan Moroney Gets Real About Her Amid Backlash
Megan Moroney has gotten real about Carrie Underwood since the backlash. When Carrie decided to perform for Donald Trump’s inauguration, fans turned Megan and Carrie against each other. They did not like how Carrie was performing for the now president, so they said they were taking her off of their playlists and playing Megan Moroney instead. However, Megan has no issues with Carrie and made it clear.
“I’m like, ‘Why am I getting brought into this? I’m happy that they relate to my music … [but] I’m never happy tearing down another woman. I come from a really big family, with each side of the [political] spectrum. And I’ve found that you can’t change anyone’s mind. The best thing I can do is love them. That’s what I want to give to my fans, too. My music is there, so hopefully, they can find comfort.”
She did not want any issues with Carrie. This is something fans did all on their own. However, she hates women being torn down. Fans are glad to hear there is no bad blood between the two as they are both fan favorites.
