Co-host Joy Behar joked, “Oh, another award.” However, the audience soon broke out into applause over Goldberg’s news.

The star had been given the award for narrating her audiobook, Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me. However, Goldberg shared a reason why the award was especially significant to her.

“This one is particularly meaningful to me because, as I’ve said when we talk about books that for me, my mom, because I was dyslexic, read to me all the time. And with the onset of audiobooks, now other kids who are like me, or who were like me, have access to audio, for school things, for everything.”

Goldberg also touched on the people who help makes these audiobooks. As she noted, “You are what keeps me from going over the edge, because the books, whatever I’m listening to on any given day, I can calm myself to come out and really just have a really good fun discussion. And it’s due to audiobooks and to the people that do this work.”

As noted by Deadline, Goldberg noted the award was “one of the reasons I was not at home to watch” President Donald Trump’s address to Congress. She continued that she was so “honored” for receiving the award.

However, the moment didn’t go on completely without any mishap. As noted by Monsters & Critics, Goldberg accidentally caused the box with the award to crash onto the table. Sara Haines quickly offered her help as another co-star shared, “Don’t break it!”

Haines joked, “This is why we can’t have nice things.” Soon, the award was placed next to a coffee mug.

Goldberg has already had a decorated career for her work as an actress and comedian. She is particularly known for being one fo the few people to have won an Emmy Award, Grammy Award, Academy Award, and Tony Award.
