Swamp People star Anna Ribbeck is one of the newest members of the alligator-hunting crew. She debuted in Season 14 and is currently part of the latest season. The upcoming episode of Season 16 will feature an incident that forced Bruce to hunt solo. The description of Episode 9 states that Anna was sidelined with a serious infection. Fortunately, Anna has kept the fans in touch on social media to share what really happened. According to the Swamp People star, she had a small cut on her thumb while pulling on alligator lines. She woke up in the middle of the night with excruciating pain and swelling. She then learned that her thumb got infected, resulting in her getting sidelined for gator hunting.

Anna added that the doctors gave her antibiotics. She thought that it would be fine to get back into hunting again. But she ended up making her thumb worse. She confessed, “By the end of the day, my thumb was the size of a golf ball and had turned purple. The red streaking up my arm had started.” She also revealed that the doctors had to drain the fluid coming out of her thumb.

Anna Back In Business After Infection

Anna Ribbeck recently took to social media to share her first photo with her hunting partner, Bruce Mitchell, as they get back on the swamp. According to the Swamp People star, her thumb infection was a major setback, but she’s excited to finally work with the group again. Bruce also celebrated Anna’s return on his social media page, saying, “Got my partner back! Me and @annathearcher are back on Swamp People tonight at 8/7c on History.” Many fans also took to Anna’s comment section to share how happy they are to see her back.

Swamp People: Anna Ribbeck Already In The Swamp With Her Hunting Partner

Anna also shared a glimpse of what they’ve been up to since her return to the swamp. The Swamp People star uploaded an educational clip with Mitchel where they explain the invasive apple snails. Mitchel encourages people to destroy apple snail eggs they see as much as possible.

Anna Ribbeck also told her followers to avoid touching the eggs with bare hands. She even used a paddle to ensure safety, adding that the eggs must be dropped into the water. Anna also explained in the comments section that the eggs contain a neurotoxin that can irritate the skin and eyes.
