Real Reason John Nolan’s Son Henry Left ‘The Rookie’
The Rookie has saw several characters come and go from the series. Many times, the reasons are easy to understand – especially when a character dies. However, sometimes, a character will disappear and many fans will wonder what happened to the person and where they went. This is the case with John Nolan’s (Nathan Fillion) son Henry (Zayne Emory).
Here is the real reason Henry left The Rookie and where the character is now.
Why Did Henry Leave The Rookie?
Henry is John Nolan’s son on The Rookie. He was Sarah and John’s son. John dropped out of college when she got pregnant. While John and Sarah realized their marriage wasn’t working, they agreed to remain together until Henry began college, which he was working toward when the series started.
However, Henry’s storylines have mostly been about his disagreements with his dad. In Season 2, Henry met and began dating a young woman named Abigail (Madeleine Coghlan). After Abigail dropped out of college, Henry soon followed, which put him in a tough spot with his dad.
However, soon, Henry agreed to work for Ben McRee (Currie Graham) and his charitable organization. This was not something that John liked at first, but he finally reconciled that it was a great opportunity for Henry, and he knew that Ben could look out for his son.
However, this also happened at the same time that Henry collapsed and needed open heart surgery to replace his failing heart valve. It was a success and he ended up moving with Ben to work for the organization with Abigail by his side.
While neither Abigail nor Ben has been seen since Season 3, Henry returned in Season 4 for a FaceTiome chat to meet John’s new girlfriend, Bailey Nune. After missing Season 5, he was back in Season 6 in “The Hammer,” where he showed up at his dad’s wedding (without Abigail).
What Do Fans Think About Henry’s Absence From The Rookie
Fans started a Reddit thread discussing Henry’s absence from The Rookie. The OP was confused about what happened to John’s son. They asked if the actor just decided to leave the show, or if there was an incident that happened that wrote him out character-wise.
