‘Young And The Restless’ Did Ian Ward Kidnap Phyllis Summers?
Fans have noticed Phyllis Summers has gone mysteriously silent on The Young and the Restless. Thanks to this, some are starting to wonder if there is some sinister reason behind this. In fact, some suspect it might be tied to another character’s return.
Daniel & Summer Have Noted That Their Mother Has Gone Silent On The Young & The Restless
Recently on the soap, Phyllis Summers’ children, Daniel and Summer, recently touched on her being surprisingly silent. Notably, this came out around the time she was planning a family breakfast.
As soap fans noted, it would be unusual for the soap to highlight a character’s absence without it leading to some twist. Thanks to this, some suspected there could be a more sinister purpose behind it.
Some fans are starting to think Phyllis’ “disappearance” could be tied to Ian Ward. As previously reported, the character appeared to have died on the soap, after making his return months prior.
However, at the last second, Ian opened up his eyes in an ambulance and escaped, hinting this wouldn’t be the last fans saw of the character. At the time, however, it seemed like his actor Ray Ward was planning to take a break from playing the character following Ian’s escape.
However, Ward also assured fans at the time that he’d like to return. Of course, if the soap was planning on making his break a short one, Ward probably couldn’t outright spoil things.
Some Fans Think It’s Too Soon For Ian’s Return, Other Suspect Phyllis Isn’t The Only Target
Taking to Reddit, a lot of fans have also been wondering if Ian could be tied to Phyllis’ mysterious absence. As one fan asked, “Who thinks Ian took Phyllis?”
Other fans shared similar thought. Some suspected, if this was true, Phyllis might not be the only character in danger. On the other hand, some thought it was too early for Ian’s return.
Others offered alternative theories as to what they think happened to Phyllis. At the time she had gone missing, some thought Phyllis was following Christine and Danny or trying to surprise Billy in Paris. Some comments on the more recent post included:
- “I hope not because personally I was glad to see that storyline end. We all know he’ll be back eventually but it’s too soon.”
- “Isn’t it interesting that Daniel, Summer and Chance are concerned for her. Summer knocks on her door there at the GCAC, no answer. Chance once again proves from the starting gate what a stupid lame ass he is by not retrieving a key from the front desk and CHECKING HER ROOM!!!!! Hello???? While you’re at it, report the woman as a Missing Person at Headquarters.”
- “It was my first thought. Has anyone seen Sharon? I’d think he’d kidnap both of them, and possibly hold them separately. They should call Nick, because Chance will never find her/them.”
- “Maybe he will give her PCP and hypnotize her. Then, she will come back as a hippie speaking religiosity and part of a new cult. Phyllis would be a funny hippie.”
- “Since there have been several mentions of Ian and TJW being gone lately, they’re probably still around and up to something! That could be a good storyline.”
