Members Of The Kardashian Family Helped Celebrate Amari’s Big Day

Tristan Thompson is a basketball player who has played for multiple teams in his career, notably the Cleveland Cavaliers. In his personal life, he became the legal guardian of his younger brother, Amari, who has Lennox–Gastaut syndrome, a severe form of epilepsy, following their mother Andrea’s passing.

Thompson has also become known for his off and on relationship with media personality Khloé Kardashian over the years. The two share two children together, True and Tatum.

As noted by Page Six, Khloé remains a part of Amari’s life, even after breaking up with Tristan, and has helped with his caregiving needs. This has allowed him to meet with other members of the Kardashian family.

During a recent episode of The Kardashians, Khloé’s sister Kim’s four children were invited to celebrate Amari’s 18th birthday. During a confessional, she admitted, “They have a lot of questions and, at times, they might not be the most comfortable.”

However, Kim shared that it’s important for her children to become more familiar with Amari. As she noted, “I think it’s so important that they play with him and they really get to know him.”

For her part, Khloé noted, “My kids, they’re much more exposed to Amari than some of the other kids, so [my daughter] True’s more concerned than frightened of Amari. But I do think it’s important for our kids and everyone’s kids to be exposed to all different types of people.”

In the episode, Kim could be seen encouraging her daughter Chicago and another child not to be afraid of Amari. As she could be heard explaining, “Are you girls a little bit scared? There’s no need to be. You know? But it’s OK if you are.”

Kris Jenner Also Had Some Touching Words For Her Daughter

Kim’s son Saint and Kourtney Kardashian’s son Reign could also been seen going up to Amari, wishing him a happy birthday. Khloé praised the gesture.

Khloé noted, “Amari has never and will never be a burden or anything like that.” She continued, “Amari is one of the most special souls I have ever met.”

“When you meet someone that’s so wonderful, and then something so terrible happens to them, you do want to help. You do want to fix it and be there as much as you can.”

In one scene, while the family was gathered out back, Amari could be seen starting to have a seizure. Khloé’s mother, Kris Jenner, was moved to tears by the scene.

Kris noted in a confessional, “Today was rough. You feel helpless when someone is having a seizure and it’s uncontrollable and there’s nothing that you could really do, but I’m glad I was here. I’m glad I was here for Amari. I’m glad I was here for Khloé.”

Kris could later be heard telling Khloé, “I’m so proud of you and, honestly, the way you’ve handled this whole situation in how you have just embraced this and been so brave. I love you.”
