‘Duck Dynasty’ Family Gives Sad Update On Phil Robertson
Fans of Duck Dynasty have been following the family over the years since the series’ original end in 2017. Over the past months, fans have especially been following health updates concerning family patriarch, Phil Robertson, who has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, amid other health issues. Recently, the family has shared a “blunt truth” while sharing another health update concerning Phil.
Phil’s Son Jase Shared The Update With Duck Dynasty Fans On The Family Podcast
Phil Robertson is the patriarch of the Robertson family and is known for his duck hunting business Duck Commander. Many fans became familiar with Phil and his family through the reality series, Duck Dynasty, which originally ran from 2012 to 2017.
Over the past few months, has endured a variety of health issues. This has included a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease, a fractured vertebrae on his back, and a blood disorder.
Throughout this time, the family has often kept fans updated on Phil’s condition through social media and podcasts. During a recent episode of the “Unashamed With the Robertson Family” podcast, the family shared a recent update concerning Phil. As noted by AL.com, his son Jase revealed, “Tell you the truth, it hasn’t been good.”
“I’m just giving the blunt truth. I’ll say, ‘Not good. We’re making them comfortable and we’re doing the best we can. So, I think that’s just what you do.”
Notably, as previously reported, it was also during this podcast that Jase shared the news of his father’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis. At the time, he shared, “Phil’s not doing well. I think I spoke on the 1000th podcast, we were trying to figure out the diagnosis, but according to the doctors, he has some sort of blood disease causing all kinds of problems.”
“It’s like accelerated, and it’s causing problems with his entire body. And he has early stages of [Alzheimer’s]. So, if you put those things together, he’s really not doing well. He’s struggling.”
Jase Also Shared An Update Concerning His Mother, Miss Kay
Jase notably had more positive news concerning his mother, Kay. As he noted, “For my mom, it’s been a lot better this past week, because she was really not doing good.”
“She got an infection from a fall, from a cut that had happened earlier…she’s still in the hospital, but (now it’s) more rehab, physically, and trying to get her to eat.”
Jase continued, “We were kinda dealing with the fact that maybe this is it. That’s what it seemed like in the moment. It seemed close there. So, it was difficult.”
As previously reported, a Duck Dynasty revival has recently been announced, complete with a two season order. At the time, it was said that Phil would not be appearing. However, his wife, Miss Kay and his brother Uncle Si were said to be appearing. The reboot is expected for release sometime in Summer 2025.
