‘Swamp People’: Gators, Guns, And A Wedding Season 16 Episode 8
The latest episode of Swamp People, Season 16, Episode 8, titled Gators, Guns, and A Wedding, brought viewers an exciting mix of intense gator hunting and emotional moments. Set in the swamps of Louisiana, the episode features high-stakes action as veteran hunters face dangerous alligators while also making time for a big celebration—Cheyenne “Pickle” Wheat’s wedding.
Troy Landry, Gator Hunter
Troy Landry, one of the most experienced gator hunters on the show, found himself with a lot on his plate. Not only was he trying to fill his gator tags during a full moon, which makes the gators more active, but he was also set to officiate Pickle’s wedding. The swamp was teeming with hungry alligators due to the feeding frenzy caused by the full moon, making Troy’s task of catching enough gators even more difficult. Troy needed help, so his son Chase stepped in to help him haul in the gators. The father-son duo worked together under pressure, racing against time to make sure they had enough gators before Troy had to head to the wedding.

While Troy and Chase were busy hunting gators, other hunters were dealing with their own challenges. Daniel Edgar, a veteran hunter, teamed up with Big D to take advantage of the gator feeding frenzy in the open waters. Although the feeding frenzy was an opportunity to catch more gators, hunting in open water comes with its own set of dangers. Daniel and Big D’s years of experience helped them stay safe while trying to catch as many gators as they could.
Elsewhere in the swamp, Leron Jones and Porkchop Williams were on a mission to catch a legendary gator named Iron Jaw. This massive gator had evaded capture for years, but Leron and Porkchop were determined to bring him down. The two hunters faced tense moments and near-misses as they chased Iron Jaw, putting their skills to the test in a thrilling hunt.
Pickle’s & Josh’s Emotional Wedding
Meanwhile, Ronnie Adams and Timmy Edwards answered a call for help from a friend whose property was being threatened by a huge nuisance gator. Known for their ability to handle aggressive alligators, Ronnie and Timmy set out to remove the dangerous gator, taking on the challenge head-first.

Jacob Landry and Little Willie Edwards, two other hunters, were also working hard to catch gators over ten feet long. They had set an ambitious goal and pushed themselves to catch larger, more dangerous gators. Despite the challenges, the two hunters were successful in catching several giant gators.
While the gator hunting was intense, the episode also took a heartwarming turn. As Troy rushed to finish hunting, he had to switch gears and become the wedding officiant for Pickle’s wedding. In a rare and emotional moment for Swamp People, Troy presided over the ceremony, showing the importance of family and tradition in the swamp. Despite the chaos of the hunt, the wedding was a moment of joy, with Troy joking with Pickle’s new husband, Josh, and making everyone laugh.
Overall, Gators, Guns, and A Wedding was one of the most action-packed and emotional episodes of Swamp People. The combination of dangerous gator hunting and a touching family celebration made this episode a standout in the series. What did you think about the wedding?
