It’s been announced that a new 9-1-1 spin-off is coming to ABC: 9-1-1: Nashville. Notably, the show comes out as another spin-off for the series comes to an end on another network. Some of the people working on the series should also be familiar to fans of the original.

9-1-1 Co-Creator Ryan Murphy Talked About The Spin-Off Back In October

The original 9-1-1 series is a procedural drama that aired on Fox from 2018 to 2023. Following this, it was then picked up by ABC.

In 2020, the series saw a spin-off, 9-1-1: Lone Star, which starred actor Rob Lowe. Its fifth and final season recently finished up, with the series finale airing on February 3, 2025.

However, just as 9-1-1: Lone Star finished its run on Fox, it’s been announced that ABC will premiere another spin-off series: 9-1-1: Nashville. According to Variety, the series is already expected for the 2025-2026 season.

The publication previously reported that Ryan Murphy, co-creator of the original series, talked about the spin-off back in October. As he shared, “Tim Minear and I are working on a new spinoff that we’re actually writing, and that we hope to get on the air next fall.”

“Sadly, we all love ‘Lone Star,’ but the financials just didn’t work. It’s a Disney company that was on a Fox network, and it just was never going to work. And we had a long run of it. So now we’re going to launch a new show in a new city that I can’t name, but it’s fun.”

Ryan Murphy Has Been Busy With A Lot Of Series Under His Belt

“And ‘9-1-1’ moved to ABC and suddenly became, I think, the biggest show on Thursday night. They obviously have an appetite for that, so we’re going to give them another one that I really love.”

At the time of Murphy’s statement, the spin-off’s location wasn’t known. However, the title suggests it will take place in Tennessee, while the original revolved around Los Angeles first responders.

The new spin-off’s executive producers should be names familiar to fans of the franchise. These include Murphy, original series star Angela Bassett, Rashad Raisani, and original series co-creators Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear.
