Backstreet Boys Brian Littrell’s Son Auditions for ‘American Idol’

Backstreet Boys member, Brian Littrell’s son, Baylee is following in his footsteps as a performer. He recently announced that the twenty-two-year-old auditioned for Season 23 of American Idol. So, how did this come about and what was Brian’s reaction? Keep reading for more details.
Brian Littrell’s Son Auditions for American Idol
Season 23 of American Idol has brought many new changes. Katy Perry is gone as a judge, and after much contemplation and debate, show alum Carrie Underwood was chosen as her replacement. It seemed like the perfect fit. She had gone through the entire Idol journey from beginning to end and could empathize with the contestants. Carrie had been tested, judged, made over, and stylized only to become the Season 4 winner. Though other names had been tossed around, this seems to be a no-brainer although she did perform at the 2025 inauguration without telling production. That has caused some backlash and concern for the show, premiering March 9th.

Another change, aside from Carrie, is Jelly Roll will be joining the show as an Artist in Residence. He will show up in Hollywood week and inspire the contestants to go the distance. Jelly Roll was there as a mentor in Season 22 and was quite beloved so this is just another step to Idol success. Season 22 also featured Loretta Lynn’s granddaughter, Emmy Russell who sadly left before the top three. It was still a massive accomplishment and now, history is repeating itself. Backstreet Boys member, Brian Littrell’s son, Baylee, 22, announced he auditioned for Season 23.

The son of Leighanne and Brian Littrell took to his Instagram to share that he had the chance to audition for the show. However, likely per an NDA, Baylee did not disclose how he did. He just asked his followers to watch the season premiere on March 9th to find out how he fared. Baylee looks like a younger version of his father so it will be interesting to see him get up and sing, and hear how he sounds.
Fans Are Ready
The moment that Baylee Littrell’s fans and followers learned he had auditioned, they immediately headed to his comment section. They were beyond ready and thrilled for him:
- LETS GOOOOO BRO!!! Shine man🔥🔥
- FINALLY! A chance for you to get the recognition you deserve! Don’t forget your fans that were with you from the beginning 🙋🏻♀️
- you’re awesome Baylee (silent but deadly) 🔥🤣
Now, his father, Brian Littrell, may have given away a slight hint that Baylee made it beyond the auditions. While promoting the Backstreet Boys Las Vegas Sphere residency, he said this:
“He’s actually on the new American Idol this season, which is a little caveat of information.”
Are you excited to see Baylee audition and do you think he will go fairly far if not all of the way? Let us know and watch the American Idol premiere March 9th on ABC.
