Sources Inside The Facility Found Various Parts Of Wendy Williams’ Situation Unusual

Williams became known to audiences through her work as a radio DJ and as the host of her namesake series, The Wendy Williams Show. However, in recent years, she stepped away from the public life after she was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia.

Since then, Williams was placed under a guardianship. However, there has been some controversy over her situation in recent months.

As previously reported, Williams spoke out against her situation in a conversation with the radio podcast series, The Breakfast Club. At the time, according to Page Six, she shared, “I am not cognitively impaired, but I feel like I am in prison.”

Recently, however, figures living in the same New York City facility with Williams have also opened up about her situation. Speaking with TMZ, many of these sources were identified as being in their 80s and living with cases of dementia or similar cognitive issues.

The publication noted the accounts resembles those given by Williams herself. They had previously talked with her for their documentary, Saving Wendy.

It was noted that most patients are in need of full-time care and supervision. Most are not allowed out on their own. That said, sources still appeared to be shocked.

Williams Also Recently Signed An Affidavit That Could Change Everything

Reportedly, they had claimed it was unusual that Williams’ guardian hasn’t moved her if she feels she is unhappy or doesn’t need her current living situation. It was also noted the most recent times she had been allowed to leave the facility was for dentist appointments.

It was also noted that the facility wasn’t a nursing home, meaning there is no medical staff on hand. Residents need to be accompanied to visit a doctor or have one come to them. This is reportedly an issue for Williams, as she is rarely allowed visits.

According to the publication, the sources also found it odd that Williams would be kept against her will if she didn’t need help. As they say, the facility is quite expensive and well-regarded.

Regarding day-to-day life, it was noted that residents’ lives consist of meals, simple exercises, games, entertainments, and “mentally stimulating activities.” Reportedly, Williams herself claimed she takes her meals in her room, disliking the idea of eating around those with serious health issues.

In addition, some news suggest that Williams’ situation may soon change. This past Wednesday, Williams signed an affidavit, asking a judge to end her guardianship. Her guardian has also approved a new medical evaluation for her.
