It has been a rough road for Wendy Williams since she was allegedly diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and aphasia. There was a Lifetime docuseries that showed the once spunky and lively Williams now dissociated and confused. It was exploitative and sad to see but it went on. She was visited by Blac Chyna in the docuseries where Williams was completely transparent about who she was. Williams took off her wig and her shoes, showing the struggles she had been facing. All she seemed to want was love and compassion, someone to be by her side who wanted to hug her which is what Blac Chyna did.
Since 2022, Williams has had a court-appointed guardian who has watched over her health and her finances. This has been problematic as seen in the documentary, TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy. She has claimed she feels like a prisoner while under the guardianship and has wanted to be free. More so, she does not have any privileges, and this is no way for anyone to live. Now that it has aired, Williams is finally taking the legal steps to end the guardianship and be a free woman. According to TMZ, the former television personality allegedly signed an affidavit on Wednesday, February 12th.

This will put an end to the guardianship and give Wendy Williams her power back. Per insiders, the affidavit states that Williams “regained capacity” to live her life without a guardian. Furthermore, she notes she does not have frontotemporal dementia as many have long believed. Though it is something that does not improve over time, she is allegedly leaps and bounds from where she was. Finally, Williams’ lawyer is expected to file an Emergency Order to Show Cause on Thursday, February 13th to force the guardianship to end.
