‘Days Of Our Lives’ Fans Worry End Is Near

Fans of Days of Our Lives have been tuning into enjoy the series, whether on NBC or Peacock, for decades. However, fans are starting to worry recent events mean the soap will soon come to an end. Notably, this comes out after another soap has met its fate.
Fans Worry The End Of One Soap Could Spell Doom For Another
Days of Our Lives first premiered in 1965. Since then, it has gone on to be one of the longest-running scripted programs.
Naturally, the series, which focuses on families living in Salem, has gone through many changes over the years. From its start in 1965 to 2022, for example, fans watched the soap on NBC. However, since then, the soap is now released on Peacock.

However, all good things must come to an end. Recently, as noted by Monsters & Critics, fans are started to worry Days of Our Lives might soon be joining that list.
Notably, Body & Soul, a fictional soap opera that the characters of Days of Our Lives are known to watch, has undergone a big shift in the series’ universe. As fans have noted, Body & Soul often serves as a metaphor for Days of Our Lives and the real-life issues going into working on the show. Thanks to this, some fans suspect this is a hint that life is about to imitate art.
As explained on the soap, Kate and Abe revealed the rights to the soap had been sold, with production moving to Los Angeles. Notably, as previously reported, fans worried that Body & Soul‘s fate would foreshadow the main soap’s actual fate last year. This means these fans concerns have been brewing for quite a while.
That said, other events in Salem could spell the end of the main soap. It was recently revealed to Kayla, for example, that Salem University Hospital would file for bankruptcy. While these developments have been planned for months, there is still the debate if it’s a sign the end is near or just ground for new storylines.
Big Events Are Being Planned For Days Of Our Lives
As the publication noted, however, Days of Our Lives fans have no reason to worry about the series’ end, at least for the time being. Notably, the soap was renewed through Season 61. This means it will continue on Peacock through 2026.
In addition, it seems that, with the end of Body & Soul, Days of Our Lives will return to typical soap drama. After all, at this time, the soap is already setting things up for February sweeps.

Notably, the series already has two other events lined up that it has to get ready for: Valetntine’s Day and the 60th anniversary special. As the latter is expected for November, that also gives fans a reason to hope the soap is currently safe.
Fan-favorite characters are also expected to be making a comeback this year. This upcoming May, for example, will see the return of Peter Reckell’s Bo and Kristian Alfonso’s Hope.
