‘Mama June’ Alana Reunites With Pumpkin After Long Absence
Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson reunited with her sister, Pumpkin Efird after a long absence. It seems whenever Alana has been in a pickle, Mama June is there to help or to offer an update. So, what did they do and how did they celebrate the reunion? Keep reading for more details.
Alana Thompson Reunites With Pumpkin After Long Absence
It is hard to believe that Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson is nearly done with her second year of college. She was hesitant to even start applying but her sister, Pumpkin Efird stayed on top of her. Pumpkin wanted her to have more opportunities than she did as she got pregnant with Ella at seventeen. Ultimately, Alana got into Regis University in Colorada and received a $21K/year scholarship. She did have to think hard about going as her sister, Anna Cardwell had cancer, plus her boyfriend, Dralin Carswell was in legal hot water.
Alana did go along with Dralin but was able to rush back to Georgia when Anna was passing in December 2023. That was a nightmare but the family has done its best to work through it. Pumpkin and Alana began their own business, The Sisters Closet, and still film Family Crisis. It just set the premiere date for the new season and fans are ready and raring to go. However, a lot has changed in their lives. Not only is Anna gone but Pumpkin and her husband, Josh Efird got divorced.
She is now dating his cousin, Darrin Kitchens and they are very much in love. They have gotten matching tattoos and they travel together but the duo took time out for some very special guests. Pumpkin took to her Instagram stories to share that two beloved people had come into town.
Alana Thompson and Dralin Carswell had come to visit and they had all gone out to eat. It was clear Pumpkin was thrilled with her visitors as everyone was doing their own thing for the holidays. Now, they are back together and catching up.
A New Normal
When Mama June got in deep with her substance abuse, Pumpkin, and Josh Efird stepped up to raise Alana Thompson. It was unclear how she took the divorce between her sister and brother-in-law. Their mother is a huge fan of Darrin Kitchens and has been open about how she did not care for Josh. Regardless, Pumpkin and Alana are back together and all seems to be going well. They will have to reunite in the very near future to do press for the new season of Family Crisis set for late spring/early summer.
