Mama June Helps Alana Through Treacherous Conditions
Mama June Shannon just helped Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson through some treacherous conditions. The family had to be together for the holidays but something was holding them up. Luckily, June was right there to be of assistance. Keep reading for more details on what happened.
Mama June Helps Alana Through Treacherous Conditions
When Alana Thompson got into Regis University in Colorado, her family was excited but also nervous. They resided in Georgia so the idea of her being that far away was a struggle. At first, she was unsure if she was even going to go. Yes, she was given a $21K scholarship but her sister, Anna Cardwell had been diagnosed with cancer. Then, her boyfriend, Dralin Carswell, was in some legal hot water. Therefore, they did not know if he could even leave Georgia. Finally, it came out that June had stolen a big chunk of Alana’s money from working since she was a tot.
So, she had no idea if she could even afford college. In the end, Alana headed off and is now in her sophomore year studying to be a neonatal nurse. It has been challenging as Anna Cardwell died at the end of Alana’s first semester. She rushed home to be by her side and got there before it was too late. It is now time for the first Thanksgiving without Anna and June went to get Alana from Colorado. They went on a road trip but in Missouri, things got murky.
Mama June and Alana Thompson were at a gas station with her car, Pinky, as shown on Instagram. This car was a gift from Josh and Pumpkin Efird when Alana graduated high school. Unfortunately, there was so much snow that it was struggling to move. June was sharing how they were trying to get the car to Georgia but it was not a good situation. More so, she was warning anyone out there to be safe as it was dangerous. It takes almost 24 hours to get to Colorado from Georgia so this is definitely an adventure.
The Long Road To Alana
Mama June Shannon started showing her journey to get to Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson three days ago. It has been a family trip that included Pumpkin, Justin Stroud, and Anna’s daughter, Kaitlyn. Fans were shocked to see them making the trek:
- I love seeing you all together. 😍 happy holidays
- Safe travels! The mountains are getting hit hard with snow today and tomorrow.
- It’s so nice to see you guys are all together! ❤️ enjoy your thanksgiving!
This is a big deal as Alana said she never wanted her mother to visit when she went to school. Things have clearly changed and now, they are bracing an atrocious storm as a team.

As sad as it was, yes it has. sometimes it takes losing something/someone you live and value to put things in perspective. it happens to us all, I like to quote the popular song by the rock band Cinderella “don’t know what you got, till it’s gone”.
*love
As a “recovering addict” myself, I think it is a great thing for this family to come together. An answered prayer! As important as it is for June to address her “issues” for the damage that caused throughout her addiction, it’s EQUALLY important for the people that she hurt to address their issues, as well. Addiction is a FAMILY disease (meaning EVERYONE had to deal with June’s addiction unfairly). Support groups, therapy, counseling, etc.. are available to all and can be utilized to aid in the “family healing process”. There will ALWAYS be problems, but it sounds like they have made some significant progress!
Family is everything!! 💕
