Ryan & Trista Sutter Reveal Rough Patch In 21 Year Marriage
Ryan and Trista Sutter are one of the most successful couples in Bachelor history. She was the original Bachelorette and luckily found her soul mate. She and Ryan have been married 21 years now and have two adorable children. They seem to have it all together and their life seems pretty perfect, at least on the love front. However, now they are revealing a rough patch they endured together. What happened? Keep reading to get all the details.
Ryan And Trista Sutter Share A Tough Time They Went Through
Ryan and Trista Sutter recently appeared on the Amy & T.J. Podcast where they talked about everything from near breakups to how their sex life has changed over the years. The couple was asked if there had ever been a time they were closest to breaking up.
Shockingly, Ryan said they did have a rough patch. He shared that years ago they did have a brief tough time. He said, “If it has been close, it’s been just her breaking up with me probably years ago. But, I think I went through a little bit of a rough period of just trying to figure out kind of where I was in life, and I think that was difficult on her.”
However, even with their brief hard times, he noted there was never a time their love for each other ever wavered.
Ryan went on to explain the situation further by adding, “But at that point … I was a little more selfish than she wanted to have someone be if she was gonna spend the rest of her life with them. So, those are probably our hardest conversations and…I just had to wake up and grow up a little bit and I feel like I did. I mean we’re still here, but that’s probably the closest.”
Overall, he’s just glad she chose him and decided he was who she wanted to spend forever with.
Trista Recalled Relationship Advice That Really Helped
Trista Sutter recalled being told to choose someone to marry that she couldn’t live without. It doesn’t matter if you can live with them, it’s if you can’t live without them. She knew she didn’t want to live without Ryan so she worked through any issues they had.
She also jokingly said if they aren’t a good kisser then kick them to the curb.
Ryan and Trista continue to make their marriage work and fans still adore them both. They somewhat recently packed up their life in Vail, Colorado to move to the big city of Denver. Ryan is still a firefighter in the Denver area and they also felt this would give their children more opportunities.
