Michael Strahan Misses ‘GMA,’ Appears On Different Talk Show
Michael Strahan was not on Good Morning America by the end of last week. However, what really surprised fans is that he plans to show up on a very different daytime talk show on ABC instead on Friday. While this might have come as a shock to daytime television fans, there was a good reason for his switch.
Here is why Strahan wasn’t on Good Morning America and instead will appear on The View this week.
Why Did Michael Strahan Miss Good Morning America Last Week?
Michael Strahan is on a promotional tour. He is participating in the tour for his daughter Isabella Strahan’s new television special, Life Interrupted: Isabella Strahan’s Fight to Beat Cancer, which will air on ABC in primetime. Lara Spencer reported about the special earlier in the week on Good Morning America.
Life Interrupted: Isabella Strahan’s Fight to Beat Cancer focuses on Isabella’s journey through her cancer battle that started right when she prepared to start college in 2023 and finished when she rang the bell as cancer-free in June 2024. Michael will participate in the special, as will Isabella’s twin sister.
Isabella not only beat cancer but also finally resumed her freshman year at USC in the Fall of 2024. Life Interrupted with Isabella and Michael Strahan will air on ABC on Wednesday, February 5. The show will also stream the next day on DIsney+ and Hulu.
Replacing Strahan on Good Morning America is ABC News correspondent Rebecca Jarvis.
Michael Strahan Joins The View To Discuss Special
Michael Strahan will join a very different ABC talk show this week when he is a guest on The View on Friday, January 31. Strahan is not only taking part in the interviews to promote the special, but he has also said that he will be giving more time to his family after his daughter’s cancer battle.
“The last year is one we hope to forget, but at the same time it’s shown us a lot of important things about who she is and about who we are and about how we show up for each other as a family,” Strahan said (via Town & Country).
On top of Strahan showing up to talk about Life Interrupted: Isabella Strahan’s Fight to Beat Cancer, plenty of other great guests are also joining The View this week. Alan Cumming will be on the show to talk The Traitors on Tuesday, Harvey Guillen will be there for Companionon Wednesday, and Henry Louis Gates Jr. will be discussing Finding Your Roots on Thursday.
