‘Bachelor’ Chris Soules Reveals Being Sober After Legal Issues
Bachelor Chris Soules has managed to stay out of the limelight since his time on the show ended. He especially seemed to avoid publicity after his legal woes that occurred in April 2017. He was allegedly drinking and left the scene of an accident in Iowa that left one person dead. Now, he appeared on a podcast where he revealed that he is sober. What did Chris share after all this time? Keep reading to find out all the details.
Bachelor Chris Soules Is Living Life Sober
Former Bachelor Chris Soules found himself in hot water with the law in April 2017. He left the scene of an accident that left one man dead. In 2019, he was sentenced to a suspended two-year prison sentence to serve two years on probation.
Since that time he hasn’t been in the spotlight very much. However, now, he has reemerged and appeared on the Almost Famous podcast. He spoke with Ashley Iaconetti who actually made her Bachelor debut on his season of the show.
He opened up about how he made the decision to be sober. Chris said, “Health-wise, I actually quit drinking in August and plan to continue to do so for the foreseeable future, which is a big deal for me. I’ve been embracing that. Hopefully, that will make a lot of things better in my life.”

Overall, drinking did not help his anxiety and all the other things he deals with in his day-to-day life. Chris, who is now 43, went on to say,
“Mentally, I’m just much more clear-headed, and it’s pretty astounding. I think it’s the longest I’ve went without drinking since I was a kid — a little kid — which is scary to me. Mentally, the clarity that you get from that and starting to work on other things, just meditation and things like that. I’m getting to be an old man now.”

How Being Sober Has Helped Him
Chris Soules went on to explain that he is really trying to embrace this new lifestyle. He said not drinking allows him to be more present for his friends and family. Overall, it has been a great thing for him.
Chris also shared that he realizes now that overall alcohol is not really healthy and as he gets older he’s just trying to do things differently. He went on to say that he was drinking even before he could drive.
According to Chris, drinking in the Midwest at an early age is a “cultural thing” especially in agriculture.
Plus, it wasn’t even the accident or any one big thing that led to his decision to quit drinking. Chris said he just realized the hangovers weren’t worth it and enough is enough.
He’s happy with his decision and although he’s still single, Chris is hoping to find a wife and start a family one day soon.
