Isabella Strahan Wants To ‘Be A Voice,’ Refuses To Live In Fear

Good Morning America host Michael Strahan and his daughter Isabella Strahan will appear in a new ABC TV special in February. In this special, Isabella and her family will discuss her cancer diagnosis and the battle she undertook to beat cancer and return to start her college career. She has also been doing some interviews lately and has emphasized that she refuses to live in fear.
Here is what Isabella had to say about how she wants to help people in the future.
Isabella Strahan Refuses To Live In Fear After Cancer Battle
Isabella Strahan was about to start college as a freshman in 2023 when she learned she had brain cancer. She then began undergoing treatment and had to have multiple surgeries, where she had a hole drilled in her head to drain fluid. Through it all, she kept fans updated and ended up cancer-free in the summer of 2024.

Now, Isabella is speaking about her cancer and the chances that it could return. However, she said that is not what she wants to think about and that she refuses to live in fear. “Obviously you can’t predict what can happen, and that is a little scary,” Isabella said (via PEOPLE). “But I don’t think you can solely live in fear. I think I should live every day. Take every opportunity.”
Isabella was lucky to have a great family standing by her side during her battle. Her father, Michael Strahan, talked about how brave she was while fighting cancer, even in her worst times. He said she wasn’t eating and was thin and tired, but she wouldn’t give up. “One of the things she said, probably the hardest thing I had to hear was, ‘Dad, I’ll do whatever. I want to live,’” Michael remembered.
Isabella Strahan Wants To Be A ‘Voice’
The new Isabella Strahan ABC special Life Interrupted not only focuses on her journey as she fought and beat cancer but also examines other cancer patients who see her as an inspiration in their battles. In the interview, Strahan said this is important to her.

“I see the impact that can come from sharing my experience. My diagnosis, it’s a part of me, but it doesn’t define me. I want to be a voice,” Isabella said about her life moving forward.
While Isabella is not living in fear, the same can’t be said for her dad. “Her doctors feel very confident, she’s going to be fine,” Michael said. “That’s what we’re going to hold on to, but you’re nervous every time. That will never go away.”
