Hoda Kotb Opens Up On Emotional Final ‘Today’ Show
Hoda Kotb recently finished her final day on the Today show on January 10, 2025. The TV personality had previously announced her career move back in September. In an interview, Kotb has discussed her emotional final episode.
Hoda Kotb’s Final Show Was Filled With Special Guests, Including Kermit The Frog
Back in late September 2024, Kotb had announced she would be leaving her role with Today. At the time, she shared she would still remain with NBC, although in an unspecified role.
Kotb’s final day was on January 10, 2025. The tearful event was filled with guest stars, as well as fans, wishing Kotb well. This included stars like Blake Shelton, Oprah Winfrey, and even Kermit the Frog, the last of whom sang “Rainbow Connection” for the star.
Speaking with People, Kotb shed some light on her final day. As she noted, “This has been overwhelming, beautiful.”
“I don’t know how to describe it, but I feel like all of my dreams came to bear on this day. I’m looking around at my kids, my family, everybody who came out here this morning. I love you guys.”
Hoda Kotb Spoke Right Outside Of Rockefeller Center
Kotb notably spoke with the publication at the Today Plaza at Rockefeller Center. While looking at the crowd, she noted, “I feel like every time I look out the window of the Today show there are people who have my back and they’re right here.
Kotb continued, “I’m face-to-face right now, and it was beautiful and amazing.” When asked about her feet, she noted, “They’re definitely not on the ground.”
The former co-host might be leaving Today, but she also assured fans she’d still be around. According to Kotb, she will regularly keep fans up to date on Instagram.
Kotb noted, “I will give you a morning boost.” She continued, “It’ll be on my Insta, and I’ll do it every single morning.”

As the publication noted, back in October, Kotb talked about a new project she’s working on: a new wellness app. At the time, she shared that the project was still in its early stages. She also mused, “I think it would be, number one, fun, and number two, helpful,”
In addition, Kotb took to Instagram to share photos and videos from her final episode. One clip notably included a tribute “from the person who loves her the most,” her mother.
