Sarah Michelle Gellar Reveals When Kelly Ripa First Saw Husband
Kelly Ripa met her husband, Mark Consuelos when they were both starring in All My Children. However, Kelly wasn’t very quiet about her immediate attraction to Mark. According to one of their former co-stars, Kelly was at “a complete loss for words” the first time she saw Mark on the set.

Sarah Michelle Gellar On Kelly Ripa Falling In Love
Sarah Michelle Gellar was on Live with Kelly & Mark this week to discuss her upcoming starring role in Dexter: Original Sin. This new series serves as a prequel to Dexter, and it shows Dexter Morgan as a young man learning from his dad how to kill. Patrick Gibson plays a young Dexter, while Christian Slater plays his dad. Gellar plays someone named Tanya Martin.
However, Gellar wanted to discuss the day Kelly Ripa met Mark Consuelos. Before she starred as Buffy Summers on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Gellar was a soap star on the daytime soap opera All My Children. Kelly Ripa also starred on the soap, and one day, a newcomer named Mark Consuelos joined the show.
Gellar said she was in the hair and makeup room, and Kelly rushed in. Ripa had big Velcro rollers in her hair, and Gellar said she was very excited about something. “I’m like, ‘What happened?’ she’s like, ‘There’s the most beautiful man in the rehearsal hall. I have never… I’m in love!’,” Gellar remembered. She looked at Mark and said, “And that is you!”
It appears this was the first time that Mark had heard this story. He seemed surprised Kelly called him a “beautiful man” the first time she saw him. Gellar said that Ripa couldn’t speak after that. “She literally saw you, and this girl is never at a loss for words. She was at a complete loss for words,” Sarah said. Kelly laughed and said, “Thank God I recovered.”
Kelly Ripa Talks First Meeting With Mark Consuelos
Kelly Ripa met Mark Consuelos at his audition for All My Children in 1995. The soap wanted to find someone to play a love interest for Ripa’s character – Hayley Vaughan. Kelly said when she saw Mark’s picture, she “had a premonition.”
“When I saw him, the photograph of him, I saw my entire future with him flash before [my eyes] — like I saw it,” Ripa claims (via PEOPLE). “And I don’t believe in any of that and now I do because of that moment.”
Mark admitted that he thought Kelly was “adorable, hot, and sexy,” but he said he was “focused” and didn’t want to mess things up. He also said he didn’t think he had a chance with her. They two eloped in 1996 and now have three grown children.
