Betting Company Sues Mike Tyson After Jake Paul Fight
Mike Tyson earned a big payday for his fight with Jake Paul, which streamed on Netflix. While the fight wasn’t very good, Tyson made it the distance before Paul won via unanimous decision. However, while Tyson was paid well for his fight, he now looks to possibly lose some of that money as a betting company is suing him.

Mike Tyson Sued After Jake Paul Fight
Medier, which promotes the betting company Rabona, has sued Mike Tyson and his company Tyrannic. The company claims that Tyson unjustly ended their promotional deal in March 2024. The lawsuit alleges that Tyson claimed Medier breached the agreement. However, the company denies that is true.
“The true reason for Mr. Tyson and Tyrannic’s hasty and unlawful termination was because Mr. Tyson had agreed [to] a deal, sponsored by Netflix, to fight the influencer, Jake Paul,” the lawsuit says (via Fox News).
On the other hand, Tyson’s attorneys said Medier breached the contract when they failed to obtain Tyson’s approval for promotional materials they used. The lawsuit seeks $800,000 back from the money they paid Tyson, for which he provided no services. They also want $729,000 in “wasted production and promotion costs.”
This lawsuit is for $1.5 million. Tyson was reportedly paid $20 million to fight Jake Paul in the boxing match. The exhibition fight saw 72,000 people attend AT&T Stadium to watch it, and more than 108 million viewers watched the event. Paul, 27, beat Tyson in an eight-round fight where both men went the distance.
What Is Next For Mike Tyson?
While Mike Tyson faces a lawsuit, many fans wonder what might be next for the former boxing world champion. While he looked slow and was nowhere near his old self in the fight, he seemed satisfied with his performance against the much younger Jake Paul. Jake won the fight by a score of 80-72, 79-73, 79-73.
Tyson, 58, said he was willing to fight again. He even challenged Jake’s brother, Logan Paul, after the fight. Standing beside his brother when Tyson said this, Logan responded that he would “kill” Tyson in a fight.
Despite this, Mike said he wouldn’t retire, even after the loss to Jake Paul. He said he would fight again, but it “depends on the situation.” It also probably depends on the payday and how much money someone will pay him. With the lawsuit for $1.5 million coming up, it might make Tyson fighting again look a little more rewarding.
