‘Jeopardy!’ Contestant Admits He Has Regret After Appearance
A lot of fans take Jeopardy! very seriously when they watch it. However, some of the players achieve a dream and have the time of their lives while playing the game. That is often proven when someone remains a good sport about it. One contestant responded to some fans talking about the game and said he had only one regret after his appearance.
Here is what Bill McKinney admitted was his biggest regret after beating defending champion Dave Bond on Monday.
Bill McKinney Wins Runaway Blowout On Jeopardy!
On Monday’s episode of Jeopardy!, Dave Bond came in as a two-day champion and was looking for a third win to get into the Tournament of Champions. However, it would not happen, as he lost and was blown out in a runaway game for one of his challengers.
Dave Bond, a retired grant writer from West Henrietta, New York, took on Lisa O’Donnell, an ESL teacher from Vienna, Virginia, and Bill McKinney, a VP of restaurants & bars originally from Boston, Massachusetts. Bill ran away with the game and won big over his opposition.
During the interviews in the game, Bill McKinney said he was a huge James Bond fan. He also said he was an adrenaline junkie. “I’m a little bit of an adrenaline junkie. And I love James Bond. I may or may not model some of my life on him,” he said after mentioning his extreme bungee jumping excursion to the same bridge from the movie Golden Eye.
Not without irony, he told this James Bond story right in the middle of the game where he beat defending champion Dave Bond.
Bill McKinney Mentions His Big Jeopardy! Regret
Humorously, a fan mentioned on Reddit that Bill should have referenced Dave Bond since he already admitted on the show to being a huge James Bond fan. Bill responded in the thread, “Easily my #1 regret is not referencing Dave during my anecdote. It was right there.”
Fans chimed in after the game to discuss the runaway win and the new champion. Here is what some of them had to say about Bill’s big regret:
- “Yeah it’s not always easy to come up with these things when in the spotlight, but the connection didn’t go unnoticed. Congrats on a great performance!”
- “Congrats!! I came here to say that but knew someone already would.”
- “I thought the same! Missed opportunity! Also, that’s an insane bungee jump. Apparently it’s the highest one you can do in Europe.”
Bill won his second game on Tuesday, albeit with a much smaller $6,000 to extend his winnings to $28,000.
