Kelly Ripa On Second Christmas Tree After Hilarious Mishap
Kelly Ripa shared that one of her favorite parts of the holiday season is having a Christmas tree at home. She recently shared a hilarious story as to why she is on her second tree this season. Kelly shared with fans that her first Christmas tree looked like it was out of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. She shared that her tree this year her tree looks a little different.
Kelly Ripa Explains Her Tree Woes
Kelly Ripa shared on Live with Kelly and Mark that she is on her second Christmas tree this year. She said her current tree looks a little different this year. Ripa revealed the hilarious story behind her tree replacement along with her husband Mark Consuelos. So what exactly happened? Kelly explained:
“We had two trees this year. One arrived and it was too big for us to fit in our house. The Christmas tree is a big deal for me every year, it’s what I look forward to. And when the tree arrived, and they cut it open, it was like a scene out of [National Lampoon’s Christmas] Vacation. The entire tree became [huge] It was like a bloomin’ onion.”
Kelly shared that she had to have the tree removed so that she could get a more appropriately sized one for the space. The second tree, however, had some strange features to it. While the first tree was too large for the space, she said the second may be a little too skinny. She joked:
“So we got what I like to call Treezempic, or Pinejaro. She’s skinny, don’t skinny-shame her. She’s sensitive about it. She’s been exercising every day. She’s beautiful, but when I tell you, hanging ornaments on this tree… even the lightest ornament and the branches are like, ‘I can’t.’”
Kelly’s Husband Mark Chimes In
Kelly isn’t the only one who has comments about the comical tree situation at home. Her husband Mark Consuelos said “Yeah, I heard terms like, ‘These branches are flaccid.’”Kelly agreed with Mark saying “Most of the ornaments are inside the tree.” Consuelos says, “I think it’s great.” He is not bothered at all by the tree that the couple ended up in their home.

The good thing about a skinny tree is that there are not as many decorating difficulties. Kelly shared that the back side of her tree is normally rather bare, however, this year with “Treezempic” she was able to get around to decorating the back side just fine. However, her husband Mark was just happy to spend time as a family hanging out by the fireplace.
