Mark Consuelos Says He Never Hears ‘I’m Sorry’ From Kelly Ripa

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos have developed an art out of giving each other a hard time on Live with Kelly & Mark. The married couple likes to poke fun at each other, and that happened again this week. They discussed ways to keep couples happy and reviewed a list of things psychologists had come up with.
Here is a look at their reaction to the list and Mark’s opinion that Kelly never says she is sorry.
Mark Conseulos & Kelly Ripa Talk Happy Couples
On Live with Kelly & Mark this week, Kelly Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, discussed a list where psychologists debate about a “simple formula that keeps couples happy.” The article specifies that couples need to “observe the five-to-one formula.”
As expected, Kelly was immediately skeptical. She read, “For every negative interaction that occurs during an argument, such as being critical, dismissive, defensive, there should be five or more positive interactions.” Kelly then said it predicted with “90% accuracy” who would get divorced based on the items listed.
She said that the first thing listed was to “show interest” and laughed at the idea. She mocked it, saying they were off to “a very slow start.” Up next was listening to your partner’s complaints; she wasn’t all on board with that one either. Then, she mentioned being affectionate and said she and Mark had mastered that.
Up next was “making small but meaningful gestures.” Kelly didn’t seem to care about this either, but Mark said they do that every day in their relationship. She wasn’t sure what he was talking about, and he said, “Sometimes I make coffee for you; sometimes you make coffee for me.”
He admitted he liked her coffee better, and she said, “I know. I do it better. I should always make the coffee.”
Kelly Ripa Never Says She Is Sorry
Kelly Ripa kept reading and said couples needed to “focus on common ground” with their kids. She said they agreed on that. However, the next item caused the two to make some interesting comments to each other. That was about couples “empathizing and apologizing.”
Mark laughed about this. He said that he does that all the time. However, he then shaded his wife. “I can name on one hand the amount of times I’ve heard ‘I’m sorry.’ But I know it’s not rare to husbands,” he said. “Husbands just don’t hear ‘I’m sorry’ from their spouses. That never works.”
However, Kelly was quick to fire back. She didn’t deny it, though, and instead said, “When we do something wrong, we will apologize,” hinting they don’t apologize since they are never wrong. Mark said that, on average, she would get something wrong 12 times a year (once a month). Kelly corrected him and said, “12 times in total.”

I think they both would be hard to live with. Kelly more than Mark. She thinks she knows better than him.
