Sunny Hostin faced some tough times recently on The View. Since the recent presidential election, Hostin has joined in with those concerned about what this means for the country’s future. She has also been very open about her concerns about the people President-elect Donald Trump has mentioned for cabinet positions.

After a recent passionate debate about Gaetz’s alleged legal problems, Hostin had to make a special legal note. This led fans to think that The View fired her from the show. Here is what you need to know.

Sunny Hostin Had To Make ‘Legal Note’ In Recent Segment

Sunny Hostin was talking with her co-hosts on The View about President Donald Trump considering Matt Gaetz for the position of Attorney General. The problem many people have is that Gaetz faced sexual assault allegations himself, including some against a minor. But he was vindicated and proven innocent.

Sunny was shocked that someone with allegations of child sex trafficking could be put in charge of a high-ranking government position.  “How could you nominate someone with allegations of child trafficking or trafficking across state lines and having sex with a 17-year-old?” Sunny asked (via New York Post). Again Matt Gaetz was proven innocent.

However, even though she said they were “allegations,” Whoopi Goldberg stopped her and said she had to make a “legal note” to protect The View from litigation. This legal note included Hostin saying that Gaetz said the allegations were a “false smear” and the Department of Justice had closed its investigation into him without filing charges.

Whoopi then moved the show to commercials.

The View Has Not Fired Sunny Hostin

The video of Sunny Hostin reading the legal disclaimer ended up going viral. One Conservative figure named Collin Rugg shared the video, and it began to spread across social media. Many of these people made fun of Sunny Hostin for her discomfort reading the disclaimer.

This also led many of the people who spread the video to make up lies, claiming that The View fired Sunny Hostin from the show for sharing her concern. However, this is not only untrue, but this situation was not even new for the talk show.

The women read legal notes on the show all the time when discussing people accused of crimes. Whenever they talk about someone accused of a crime, they will often read the notes of what the person said about the claims.
