On Monday, Hallmark shocked fans of The Way Home by announcing that Season 3 would premiere on the network’s streaming channel, Hallmark+, months before it premieres on the OG. Instead When Calls the Heart Season 12 will premiere on Sunday, January 5, when fans expected TWH Season 3 would premiere.

Now, fans want to “Tell Hallmark No.” What are they suggesting that other viewers do?

The Way Home Fans Tell Hallmark ‘No’

Fans of The Way Home are furious at Hallmark. When the network announced on Monday that Season 3 would premiere on January 2. However, it is on the streaming channel. Consequently, the new season would premiere on the Hallmark Channel sometime in the fall, fans told Hallmark “No.” But this is not a knee jerk reaction. The devoted fans of the top five cable series had a feeling this was coming. That is because just a few weeks ago, Hallmark announced the When Calls The Heart Season 12 January 5 premiere.

After that announcement, there were rumors flying that The Way Home was headed to the network’s streaming service, Hallmark+. Now this is a reality they want the network to change their mind.

Firstly, Hallmark viewers created a poster they shared on Reddit. This poster shares suggestions that fans not sign up for the streamer. Moreover, they asked fans to speak out on the numerous social media channels.

Tell Hallmark No. All viewers deserve to see The Way Home on the Hallmark Channel in January. Make your vote heard on Hallmark’s official social media. Do NOT subscribe to the Hallmark+ streaming service they’re trying to push. The Way Home has aired for two seasons on Hallmark Channel. Fans deserve to see the show at the same time without fear of spoilers.

At this time, Hallmark has not issued any statement on why they decided to premiere the series on the streaming channel first. In the first two seasons, The Way Home episodes would be available to stream on the streamer, then known as Hallmark Movies Now, one to four days after the episode aired on the OG.

In addition, these episodes also aired on Peacock up to 72 hours after the premiere. Based on this information, these episodes will not be available to stream on Peacock in January. Those viewers have to wait until they air on the Hallmark Channel in the fall of 2025.

Reddit Posters Share Their Anger With Hallmark

The Way Home Reddit page is filled with angry fans who feel cheated by the Hallmark executives who made this decision. Other fans were underwhelmed by Season 2. Therefore, they are not rushing to sign up for the streaming channel.

  • Does anyone else feel like the movie to Hallmark+ was punishment? A few weeks ago, our community was in an uproar when WCTH got our start and time slot bc that meant having a later start date. Now we’re being made to either pay for a subscription or wait until the fall to watch. I already thought a whole year was too long to wait for only TEN episodes worth, but now we’re told to hold out a year and a half? but no thanks.
  • On a side note: if greedy Hallmark executives think that they can FORCE us TWH fans into subscriptions to pad their pockets, land a promotion, pay for their massive homes or their net vacation, I suggest we do NO such thing instead as one person said on one of the, look into options from your local library. I think HOOPLA was the only one mentioned. I will NOT pay for a show that we made popular Hallmark!🤷🏻‍♀️
  • They’re definitely running the risk of people forgetting about the show entirely in the next year and a half. I was underwhelmed by the second season and I’m not paying for another streaming service. I can’t imagine I’m the only one.

Lastly, there is a mention of checking out Hallmark+ at the library through HOOPLA. This is for one week at a time.

  1. Hi Hallmark,

I am writing because of the change of channels and days for The Way Home Season 3. I believe with this change you will lose almost half you audience going from Hallmark to Hallmark+. Trump has said he will add tariffs to anything coming from a foreign country, so this will cost more. Hallmark+ requires consumers to pay for the privilege of viewing this show. People are watching how they are spending their money.I am old enough to remember when the Indian came on the TV in the morning and there were 3 channels. I had to upgrade my cable to watch this show last time; I am not interested in having to upgrade again, just to see this one program.

Let me give you an example, I am a big CBS watcher. When they decided to cancel NCIS Hawaii and NCIS Australia, I cut way back on my watching of CBS.CBS had brought on new NCIS programs but I will; not watch them, I believe this is what will happen to The Way Home. Between waiting all this time for a season 3 The Ponders expecting it to be on Hallmark only to find it will be on yet another steaming channel. By doing both of these things you will loose a number of viewers, most likely killing the possibility of a season 4. If you can keep it on regular Hallmark, I believe that will help people calm down.

I cannot tell you how many times I have watched seasons 1 and 2 of The Way Home. I found out that the show is shot in Uxbridge, Ontario. I had some family that lived there, so I enjoy looking to see if I recognize anyone.

I love the show because it is family friendly, a several generations and how they interact. Please try to get this show back to Hallmark.
