‘DDWTD’ Deon Derrico Shares Special Life Update Amid Divorce
Doubling Down With The Derricos star, Karen and Deon Derrico ended the last season with their new dream home. While it was hard to say goodbye to the old one, they knew many new memories would be made in the new house. But many things have changed since the end of Season 5. Deon shares a special life update amid his divorce from Karen Derrico.
Holidays Look A Little Different This Year
After Doubling Down With The Derricos Season 5, Karen and Deon Derrico decided it was time to call it quits on their marriage. While they moved to a bigger home at the end of the season, the family is going through transitions with the parents’ separation. However, both have expressed how important it is to them to continue to create a stable home for their fourteen children. Although Karen changed her mind about her post for Deon’s birthday, they still seem to be trucking along with their original plan amid their divorce. Not only will this year look different with a new home and a divorce, but they also had the unexpected death of Amani Barkley earlier this year.
Deon Derrico Shares Special Life Update Amid Divorce
On Instagram, Karen and Deon Derrico updated about their family leading up to Thanksgiving. In the caption, they say, “#TheDERRICOs Thanksgiving Meal prep Collards! I’m teaching my boys the importance in being a part of cleaning and getting ready for the Holidays. #DEONDERRICO #Thanksgiving2024 #MyLargeFamily.” Additionally, they attached a video that showed several of their boys lined up to prep greens for the big meal. Deon says, “Look at my babies in here. I got an assembly line. We got a bagger. We got a cutter and two…three cleaners technically.”
Furthermore, Deon and Karen want to raise their kids to know they share responsibilities in the household. While the girls weren’t in the video, Deon talked about the need for everyone to learn their fair share. He continues, “We got the boys doing it. The girls are already doing it. So we need these boys to know their responsibility in cooking for the holiday.”
Deon Derrico Responds
Afterward, Deon Derrico took time to respond to many of the comments about training his kids to help with the holiday preparations.
- Someone says, “I bet this is a huge help.” Deon responds, “Omg yes.”
- “I absolutely LOVE this. I’m a mother of 12 children 8 sons and 4 daughters from Detroit Michigan and we live in Las Vegas. Big Families are a BLESSING 🙌🏾 Happy Thanksgiving to you and your Family.” Deon replies, “What up Doe!! My Detroit family.” Then, he adds, “Large families rock.”
- Another fan says, “That’s right teach them boys how to cook so they don’t depend on no one or only make noodles 😂😂😂.” Deon agrees, “That’s right.”
- Someone else wants to enlist their help, “Please Send them to Texas. 😂😂😂I need some assistance cleaning these greens!” Then, Deon just laughs, “😂😂😂.”
The Derricos Bring Back Memories For Some Fans
While Karen Derrico wasn’t in the video with Deon Derrico and the kids, she was tagged on social media. Seemingly, they are finding ways to continue their traditions amid the divorce. But their assembly training brings back memories for some fans.
