‘The Price Is Right’ Fans Livid, Want ‘Too Hard’ Game Gone

The Price Is Right: Drew Carey

As much as game show fans love The Price Is Right and all of the games that the show comes up with, not every game is a hit with viewers. Recently, fans of the show called out a particular game for being “too hard,” with many calling for it to be removed entirely. So, what did fans have to say?

The Price Is Right: Producers Are Always Coming Up With New Game Ideas

While the end goal for anyone who competes on The Price Is Right is to win enough to make it to the coveted Showcase Showdown, before any contestants can have their shot at that big money and those prizes, they need to win enough at the mini-games first.

The Price Is Right has had some interesting mini-games in the decades that the show has been on the air. Some of them are big hits with viewers, while others are not. Either way, it’s a way for those behind the scenes to be creative with game ideas, even if some of them don’t always go over well.

Game Show Fans Want Game Gone, Which One?

It turns out, The Price Is Right fans are particularly put off by one of the mini-games that the show puts contestants through. In fact, many viewers are so put off by it that they want the game off the slate entirely and never to be seen or heard from again.

The game is 3 Strikes. If this is any indicator of how challenging this particular The Price Is Right game is, 14 players in a row lost this game, and there has been no winner from it in three years.

Baseballs with numbers on them corresponding to the price of an item are put inside of a big baseball drum. The player then needs to spin the container and pull out a baseball. If the player guesses correctly where a particular number goes to reveal the price of something, they move on to the next one.

However, if they are wrong, they have to put the ball back, spin the container again, and also get one strike. If they make three wrong guesses before they correctly guess the price, they lose the game.

The Price Is Right Fans Want Difficult Game Gone

Many The Price Is Right fans want 3 Strikes gone from the lineup of games that the players have to play. The way most viewers see it, this game is too difficult, and not enough people actually win.

  • One recent commenter said: “I despise 3 strikes. Way too much luck involved.”
  • Another commenter said: “And it takes forever to lose. Just a long, annoying, slim chance to win game.”
  • Another person said: “Every time the contestant pulls a strike Drew says it’s good because there’s one less strike to worry about. That’s specious reasoning and it annoys me so much. Today the contestant even said ‘I love your positivity’ to Drew. I like to think she meant it sarcastically. This game is just way too hard. Sure, it’s played for a very expensive car, but the odds are so low and it’s based mostly on luck. I get annoyed every time it’s played. Does anyone know the winning statistics on this game?”
