‘Today’ Fan Favorite Exiting, Amid Major Network Shakeup
A fan-favorite on Today is exiting the show. Following the departure of Hoda Kotb, most viewers don’t want to see anyone else going anywhere. So, who is leaving the broadcast amid this recent major network shakeup?

When it comes to things like major networks, you never quite know when a new deal will be made that will rearrange the entire landscape of everything you know. Particularly in the television industry, things can be harsh and cutthroat. Even for the popular anchors who people tune in to watch, they are never completely safe from the chopping block, either.
It turns out, based on the latest updates making the rounds, MSNBC will no longer be directly affiliated with NBC. This means that a lot of the talent is getting moved around as well. As a result of this separation, which is expected to be done later this year, one popular Today correspondent will be exiting the show.
Who Is Exiting Today This Time Around?
It’s always a tough time when popular anchors and correspondents leave shows like Today. Viewers enjoy shows like these for the routine, and the sense that they know what they can expect from these programs, especially when they become such an integral part of people’s weekday routines.
Unfortunately for fans of Jacob Soboroff, the fan-favorite correspondent will be leaving Today. At the time of this writing, it’s unclear when he will leave officially, but, the writing certainly seems to be on the wall. Soboroff joined NBC in 2015, and he regularly fills in for Carson Daly as the Pop Star reporter, particularly when Carson is away filming The Voice.
He also fills in regularly at the big desk whenever anchors like Savannah Guthrie or Craig Melvin are out. So, it will be an adjustment for some viewers to no longer see him on Today.

What Will Jacob Soboroff Be Doing Next?
It has been rumored that Jacob Soboroff won’t be entirely out of a job. Even though he will be leaving his post at Today, he is “expected to land at MSNBC,” according to a recent claim made by journalist Lachlan Cartwright. Soboroff is reportedly “well-liked” by an executive there, Rebecca Kutler.
Big shakeups like these can happen at any time, particularly in the television industry. So, it will be worth keeping an eye on this as the rest of the pieces fall into place. Today fans are still feeling the void left by the departure of Hoda Kotb, and while this situation with Jacob Soboroff likely won’t hit as hard, he still has people who enjoy seeing him on the show, and enjoy what he brings to the broadcast.
