‘The Talk’ Canceled, Series Finale Date Revealed
After news broke out that The Talk had been canceled, fans have been wondering when the show would air its last episode. Recently, a release date has been given for the talk show’s final episode.
The Series Went Through A Lot Of Hosts During Its Run
The Talk was developed by actress Sara Gilbert. It went on to feature hosts including Sheryl Underwood, Sharon Osbourne, Leah Remini, Amanda Kloots, and Jerry O’Connell.
Broadcast before a live studio audience, the series originally focused on motherhood. However, the premise eventually expanded, with the talk show focusing on various current events.
Back in April, CBS revealed that The Talk would end with its 15th season. At the time, the last episode was expected to air sometime towards the end of the year.
However, the air date of the final episode has also been revealed. As TV Insider revealed, the final episode will air on December 20, 2024.
At this time, not much is known about what is planned for the final episode. As was previously reported, the series already unveiled a musical number as the series was reaching its final episode.
Thanks to this, some fans are already a expecting a celebratory send-off. However, it’s also worth noting the fifteenth season is expected to be shorter than previous seasons.
A New Soap Opera Will Take Its Place
It’s also come to light that the show won’t be replaced by another talk show. Instead, its slot will be taken by a new soap opera, Beyond the Gates.
This new series will focus on generations of an African-American family living in a gated community. The soap will premiere the following year, on February 24, 2025.

Before news of the show’s official cancelation, fans were already speculating the show would be ending soon. After all, with the announcement of a new soap opera, something would have to leave to make room on the schedule.
Holly Robinson Peete, who had been one of the show’s earlier hosts, also talked about the cancelation. As noted by TV Insider, she was noted as saying, “I’m so sorry that you’re not continuing, that doesn’t make a lot of sense to me but that’s a whole other story.”
However, she also acknowledged how grateful she was to be part of it. As she shared, “At the end of the day, it’s great to have been on the first show and on one of the last shows.”
