Blake Shelton & ‘Yellowstone’ Creator Team Up For New Reality Series
Blake Shelton and Yellowstone creator, Taylor Sheridan, have teamed up for a brand new reality series. It is unclear if Blake’s hit competition show, Barmageddon is done for good. Therefore, what is a man to do? Start another show with a fellow hitmaker. So, what is this brainchild that Blake and Taylor have come up with? Keep reading for more details.
Blake Shelton & Yellowstone Creator Team Up
After twenty-three seasons, Blake Shelton exited The Voice. He was the last remaining OG coach so his departure was very hard for diehard fans. Blake had a unique way of finding that one coach every season to banter with. This came after Adam Levine left at the end of Season 16 and their bromance was over. Reba McEntire has worked very hard to replace Blake but no one can beat him and his wit. He moved on to the bar games series, Barmageddon which he helmed alongside The Voice host, Carson Daly.
Blake also had some fun Hallmark deals in the works plus his music and his marriage to Gwen Stefani to work on. Then, there was his Ole Red restaurant which was constantly expanding. So, he had very little downtime to sit around and do nothing. As for Taylor Sheridan, he has a hand in a plethora of projects but his biggest, Yellowstone, will end in December 2024. Together, he and Blake have decided to start their own series and it is going to be a lot of fun. According to People, they are launching a singing competition, something Blake is very familiar with.
The series is called The Road and it will premiere in Fall 2025. A press release shared that it will be a CBS docuseries that follows “a headlining superstar (to be announced) on their journey to discover the next big artist.” Additionally, the series will give “a backstage pass into the gritty and unforgiving life of a touring artist.” Viewers will be privy to the BTS dealings of the music business as well as life on tour. It will be tough and rigorous but, in the end, these musicians are chasing their dreams.
The Prize
As the performers go on tour with this mystery headliner on The Road, the goal is to stay on tour. So, what made Blake Shelton want to embark on this with Taylor Sheridan?
“I’m a big fan of Taylor’s incredible work, and I’m excited to team with him and my long-time collaborator, Lee, on The Road. I know a thing or two about singing competitions and what it’s like to chase a music dream and live life on tour. I’m looking forward to discovering new talent and giving them this platform.”
As for Taylor, he knows that country music is taking over. He knows Blake is the ideal person to work with on this project but they are not going beauty and glam. Rather, it is bare bones, down to the nitty-gritty, to show the performers what it takes to get to the top. More so, to see if they have what it takes to achieve their dreams. This will be an exciting endeavor for both men and it will be a thrill to see who the headliner ends up being.
