Gold Rush Star’s Dominion Creek Has Potential

Fans of Gold Rush know that Season 15 is going to be about Dominion Creek. That means a lot of work and a lofty goal at the beginning of the season.

Recently, Parker Schnabel dished to TV Insider about this gold-rich claim. Firstly, he shared that they have six years and 60,000 ounces to mine. Therefore, the Schnabel crew needs to mine 10,000 ounces this season.

Parker admits that “Maintaining that pace is extremely difficult. That puts a huge amount of pressure on every day and every week and every person at the mine site to stay on track and get that done.”

Unfortunately, he admits despite the big financial potential of this claim, last season they did not get to maximize the potential of mining on Dominion Creek.

Part of the deal was the big move. They also had to get equipment there and get their systems set up. Now, in Season 15, they get a full year to “figure out if these goals were realistic.”

This crew needs to move a massive amount of dirt. But, they don’t have the luxury of time.

Parker Schnabel Shares Possible Dominion Creek Pitfall

While Gold Rush star Parker Schnabel seems to overcome nearly all of his obstacles season after season, he admits that there is a huge Dominion Creek pitfall. That is the dreaded water license.

Fans of the series know that this very issue has been a problem for Tony Beets. Parker shared his own concerns.

“As of Spring 2024, we had six years left on the permits and water licenses, and operations. It’s an unknown factor after that. You might get a permit. You might not. That’s a very uncomfortable position for me to be in if we’ve gone to term and haven’t mined it all out.”

Therefore, the potential pitfall is that if they don’t mine this all out in the six-year span, they may never get all of the gold out of this historical claim.
