Matthew Perry’s LA Home Sells One Year After Passing
It was a heartbreaking day when it came out that Matthew Perry had passed away. He had long struggled with substance abuse issues and spent time in and out of rehab. Yet, things were looking up as he had written a book, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir. He was doing promotions and interviews for the book and before that, Matthew had gathered with his Friends co-stars for a reunion. This was long-awaited and it was a success. Sadly, the happiness surrounding him would be short-lived.
He ended up drowning in his hot tub as a result of the “acute effects of ketamine.” As it turned out, many people at play contributed to his death including a woman called the “Ketamine Queen.” Charges have been filed, including against some doctors. This likely could have been prevented but unfortunately, Matthew was with the wrong people. There was a point where Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife, Brooke Mueller was questioned as she and Matthew had been friends. However, she maintained she had nothing to do with his death. Now, his estate has been settled and his LA home has been sold.

According to Us Weekly, Matthew Perry purchased the home in 2020. It was initially built in 1965 and he had bought the 3500-square-foot property for $6 million. It was sold for $8.5 million but who is the lucky owner? Movie producer and the founder of Arizona Land Consulting, Anita Verma-Lallian. She actually bought Matthew’s home as an investment property so it is unclear what she will do with it now that she is the owner. The LA property has four bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms so it is quite stunning.
Saying Goodbye
Despite Matthew Perry’s untimely death, his mother recently spoke on the Today Show. Suzanne Morrison shared her last memories of her son who died at the age of 54. She felt that he knew his time was coming to an end in the way he was speaking to her:
“He went through a period, interestingly enough, just before he died when he was showing me one of his new houses. He came up to me and he said, ‘I love you so much, and I’m so happy to be with you now. And I’m so…’ It was almost as though it was a premonition or something. I didn’t think about it at the time, but I thought, ‘How long has it been since we’ve had a conversation like that?’ It’s been years.”
His family has also shared what a light he was and how he can brighten any room. When the thirtieth anniversary of Friends occurred in September 2024, the cast had initially wanted to do it up big. They had talked to Matthew about how they hoped to celebrate this momentous occasion. However, after he passed away and an investigation opened, the cast seemingly chose to honor the 30th privately as it was too hard to do it without Matthew.
