Wendy Williams has started the fight for a new attorney as she is ready to get rid of her court-appointed guardianship. She has long maintained that she is fine and does not have dementia despite a previous diagnosis. So, what does her new fight consist of? Keep reading for more details.

For years, Wendy Williams delivered the best gossip and dished with celebrities on her hit talk show. Then, she collapsed during a Halloween episode, and that raised some eyebrows. Was she okay and was something deeper going on? Eventually, the show ended and it appeared she may be struggling with alcohol abuse or something deeper. Wendy was then diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia and became the subject of a Lifetime documentary. Some felt that it was explorative as it showed her at her absolute worst. It was also very hard to watch someone so full of life backslide.
Wendy was eventually placed in a memory care facility but it seemed that was not where she belonged. She was put on the fifth floor and could not leave unless she had an escort. Then, she did an interview with TMZ which spawned another documentary, and it proved she was cognitively fine. She was having full, cohesive conversations and seemed to have a grip on reality. Even the staff at the facility backed up Wendy and now, she is actively fighting to get her guardianship revoked.

Currently, Wendy Williams is being represented by Sadatu Salami but she is hoping to add another attorney for her case. First, before she can make that decision, a hearing will be held to ensure competence. Once that is proven, it seems she can then go on to make a choice as to who she wants to help represent her and end this nightmare:
“There will be a Lincoln hearing to determine if Wendy is mentally capable of hiring her own attorney.”
Then, the judge will have to approve Wendy’s choice but that could be tough. She had another lawyer, Linda Redlisky but she fired her as she never filed the papers to terminate her guardianship.
A Hot Mess Topic
Wendy Williams has been having a hard time with what is going on and she has not been helped in the way that she should have. According to a source, she was given an empty credit card when she visited her father in Miami:
“During her trip to see her father in Miami last month for his birthday, the credit card given to her by Sabrina was declined and someone else had to pay for her purchases.”
Sabrina Morrissey has been in charge of Wendy and her well-being since 2022. However, she has not been helpful and seems to have dropped the ball. Hence why Wendy wants her removed and is attempting to take her life back. Sabrina’s legal team did note that Wendy would have to undergo an evaluation but it is clear that she has no faith in her competency:
“The Guardian has no intention of pursuing litigation in the highly unlikely event that the new medical examination determines that W.W.H. now has the mental capacity to manage the A&E matter.”
This does not sound like Sabrina thinks Wendy is capable of making her own decisions and is no better than she was before. Fans have been speaking out about Wendy and how they want to free her:

- she is not lying. the guardian makes ALL of the decisions. This is not to protect her, but to control and abuse her.
