‘Price Is Right’ Drew Carey Offers ‘Second Chance’ For Extremely Difficult Game
Most television game shows have one game, and the players know what they are getting into. Players solve puzzles on Wheel of Fortune. Contestants solve trivia clues on Jeopardy!. However, on The Price is Right, the contestants don’t know what game they are playing until they hit the stage.
Some games are easier than others, but Drew Carey mentioned that one is so hard, the show has to offer a second chance. Here is what you need to know.
Which The Price is Right Game Is ‘Too Hard’?
On a recent The Price is Right episode, a contestant named Paris made it to the big stage and got a chance to play one of the hardest games on the show. This game is called Time is Money, and the price guessing is similar to other games, but the ticking clock makes it very stressful.
The way that Time is Money works is that there are five grocery items available. The player then has to arrange the cards that go with them on the right platforms based on the prices. The ranges include $0-$2.99, $3.00-$5.99, and over $6.00.
Drew told Paris that he had 10 seconds to place them on the platforms and yelled, “Go!” However, after Paris grabbed one and ran over, Drew had to warn him to take all of them at once, or he wouldn’t get them all placed on time. He got the rest and laid them all out before the buzzer sounded.
Drew looked tired already, realizing Paris almost didn’t get them all placed on time. Sadly, the buzzer showed that not all of them were in the right place. That is when Drew said the game is so hard that it gives players a second chance.
What Happened With Paris On The Price Is Right?
“I’ll show you the second chance we have built into this game because it’s so hard, we have to build in a second chance,” Drew said (via Instagram). He told Paris that he had to “rearrange them as fast as you can” and then press the red button to see if he was right.
The Price is Right fans watched as Paris tried again, but this time, the timer was ticking down from $20,000 to $0. Whatever the timer was on when Paris got the right order was how much money he would win. Paris finally got them all in the right place and hit the buzzer, securing the win. By this time, the timer was down to $8,000, which was still a big win for the player.
Drew Carey seemed happy about it, and the audience cheered as Paris walked out with a nice win and moved on to spin the Big Wheel later in the show.
