‘Night Court’ Sees Melissa Rauch & Mayim Bialik Reunion
Fans of The Big Bang Theory can expect a mini-reunion on the horizon. Actress Mayim Bialik is set to appear on Night Court, which stars her former Big Bang co-star Melissa Rauch. The actress and former Jeopardy! host has even given fans a few hints on what to expect from the upcoming reunion.
Amy & Bernadette Will Be Back Together Again On Night Court
Night Court is a 2023 revival of the series of the same name. In the series, Rauch plays Judge Abby Stone, who comes to New York City to work for the Manhattan Criminal Court’s night shift. Rauch’s character takes on the position once filled by her late father, Harry Stone, a main character in the original show, played by the late Harry Anderson.
Before joining the revival, however, Rauch became known to audiences as Bernadette on The Big Bang Theory. On the series, she often famously had scenes with her onscreen best friends, neuroscientist Amy Farrah Fowler, played by Mayim Bialik, and Penny Hofstadter, played by Kaley Cuoco.
In fact, Night Court is planning a little reunion with Rauch and Bialik. The actress known for bringing Amy to life has even shared what fans could expect from her upcoming appearance.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Bialik will actually play a fictionalized version of herself. She will appear at night court as a defendant. Soon, she becomes friends with Rauch’s character, who turns out to be a fan of Bialik since her Blossom days. However, things take a turn when Stone realizes Bialik is stalking her.
As noted by the publication, Bialik said reuniting with Rauch was a “surreal” experience. The reunion will be the first time the actresses shared the screen since The Big Bang Theory ended in 2019. “It feels like I should be dressed like Amy and she should be dressed like Bernadette,” she shared.
This Isn’t The First Time Night Court Gave Rauch A Mini-Reunion
“There’s definitely a lot of surreal moments and just a huge nostalgia factor. Melissa and I were next to each other for nine years of our lives and shared a huge section of our time together, as did the entire cast. She and I were brought on together in season 4 on Big Bang, so we really trudged a very similar path in terms of our timing.”
However, Bialik’s appearance won’t be the first reunion Rauch has had on Night Court. Actor Kunal Nayyar, who played Raj on The Big Bang Theory, previously appeared as fashion designer and possible love-interest Martini Todd Wallace.
Bialik admitted the earlier reunion made her a bit jealous, so she was naturally happy when Rauch invited her to appear on the show, too. As she said, “I literally said, ‘Whatever you want. You can make me as silly as you want. I’ll do whatever you want.’ And indeed, I’m a really funny, evil version of myself. It’s a lot of fun.”
