‘On Patrol: Live’ Loses Two Departments, Who’s Joining?
On Patrol: Live has lost two departments which is heartbreaking for many viewers. At the same time, they have gained some new ones. So, who has exited, how long will they be gone for, and who is taking their places? Keep reading for more details.
On Patrol: Live Loses Two Departments, Who’s Joining?
Whenever departments exit On Patrol: Live, viewers are not happy. This is understandable as they have grown used to the officers and are comfortable with them. Hazen Police Department is a fan favorite but they often take time off for a few reasons. First off, they are a small department so it is hard to balance both the show and their job. Then, they have hunting season which they love. Lastly, they have families and sports teams which they travel with and coach. So, a lot happens and fans understand but they cannot wait for them to return.
Unfortunately, that is the nature of the beast and departments rotate. The show gives new ones a chance to shine and others get a breather. Starting Friday, October 18th, two departments are taking a step back. Coweta County Sheriff’s Office and Beech Grove Police Department will not be on the show for the foreseeable future. However, it is not a permanent thing as OPL looks forward to their return. So, who will be taking their place? The Monroe Police Department in Louisiana and Butt’s County Sheriff’s Office out of Georgia are coming along for the ride.
Starting this Friday, the Monroe Police Dept. in Louisiana and the Butts County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia will be riding with @OfficialOPLive! We won’t be riding with Beech Grove and Coweta in the coming weeks but look forward to their return in the future. #OPLive #REELZ… pic.twitter.com/fwHdLdQbZ2

Fans were very supportive, flooding their Twitter/X with welcoming messages. They wanted the new departments to know that they were family as well. However, Beech Grove will be missed simply because it was one of the first to be featured on the new version of Live PD. More so, it was the first out of Indiana so it holds a very special place in the On Patrol: Live universe.
So Much Excitement
With this news out of On Patrol: Live, a Reddit thread was started. Fans were very excited to see the new officers and ride along with them:
- Oddly really excited to see Monroe. I’m from Louisiana and lived around the Monroe area, so it will be pretty cool to me to see if I can recognize where they are
- Monroe is a college town. That could make things interesting
Yet, some wondered why these departments would come and go so often:
- What happened to Beech Grove? Did they decide they didn’t like doing the show? I often wonder why these departments come and go like this.
Hopefully, Monroe and Butts County bring a lot of fun and excitement as well as drama to keep viewers at the edges of their seats.
