‘Survivor’ Why Rome Cooney Broke Down In Deleted Scene
No one tries to claim that participating in a show like Survivor is easy. Survivor is widely recognized for being one of the most challenging competition reality TV shows ever. It first premiered in 2000 and has gone on for 47 successful seasons so far.
Tuning into Survivor is something plenty of people do when they’re craving motivation to reach higher levels of success. After all, the contestants go through the wringer trying to come out on top. Rome Cooney is a contestant from Survivor Season 47 who found himself caught in a whirlwind of emotions in front of the cameras. These are the details.
Survivor: Why Did Rome Cooney Start Crying?
While filming Survivor, contestants are challenged in ways they’d typically never experience in the real world. Overcoming massive obstacles pushes some contestants down emotional paths. Most people who break down crying do so in the privacy of their own homes, but when filming reality TV shows, there are always cameras following you around.
Rome had a vulnerable moment while filming Survivor recently. The scene didn’t make it into the actual episode, but the deleted footage is now circulating online. Rome rehashed the moment with Entertainment Weekly, saying:
”I think the emotion right now is just coming from, I really don’t ever tell myself that I’m proud of myself. I always look at something, even a major success, and I say, ‘Wow, I could have done this better. I could have done that better.’ Because I’m looking at my siblings, and they’re all great in what they try to do.”
More Details About Rome Cooney’s Emotional Moment
Rome went on to list the success stories of his siblings. One of his older brothers works for the government, while his other brother works for the FBI. One of his sisters is a best-selling author, while another is a multimillion-dollar real estate agent. From Rome‘s perspective, he didn’t know if he’d ever do as well in life as any of his siblings. He questioned if he’d ever measure up to them. He went on to say:
“I didn’t know if I was going to be able to come out here and be great. The fact that it’s happening, it is tears of joy. It’s not tears of sadness. I’m super-proud of myself… All of a sudden, I’m able to find this belief in myself that I don’t think was even there before I came out on Survivor.”
Some Survivor fans might think of Rome as a cocky contestant who doesn’t have much self-awareness. This emotional moment from him certainly proves otherwise.
