Diddy Made This Alarming Threat To A Journalist
The once-idolized music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has seen his reputation tarnish before his eyes. This is in large part because of the sex trafficking and racketeering allegations against him. However, it appears these might not be the only skeletons in Diddy’s closet. His trial isn’t scheduled to begin until May 2025. Yet, more stories keep coming out about what the former rapper has done in his personal life. Based on the accusations and stories coming out, it’s clearly not a secret that Diddy enjoys being in charge of people and controlling the narrative. Another recent claim only amplifies this.
The Threat Diddy Made Against A Journalist
Back in 1997, Diddy did a photoshoot with Vibe. According to The Mirror, Danyel Smith, who was the editor-in-chief at the time, talked about how Diddy wanted more control of the magazine photos. He allegedly requested copies of the magazine before they were published. However, doing that would have gone against the magazine’s strict policy. Smith refused to give him a copy, which is when Diddy began losing it.
Diddy allegedly said he would come back to the office and “force” the employees to show him the magazine so he could approve it. Smith denied this request and took all of the copies home with her to ensure there weren’t any at the office. He still showed up, along with multiple members of his security team, demanding to see the copies. That didn’t stop the “I’ll Be Missing You” rapper from still trying to get in touch with Smith.
According to Smith, Diddy called her with a terrifying threat. She claims he told her to give her the copies of the magazine or she would be “dead in the trunk of a car.” Smith then retaliated by saying, “Take it back or I’m calling my lawyer and you’re going to jail.” Smith did contact her lawyer, because Diddy didn’t back down from what he said. She wasn’t sure exactly how the conversation between her lawyer and Diddy went. However, she did explain that Diddy faxed her an apology.
The story didn’t end there, though. Smith mentioned that someone stole tons of servers from the magazine’s offices. She believes that someone on the team let people from Bad Boy Entertainment in. That is one of Diddy’s many companies. While the story has yet to be confirmed, it wouldn’t be shocking to learn that Diddy committed these acts. Thankfully for Smith, he didn’t follow through with the startling threats he made. The disgraced music icon likely won’t see the outside world again, as the charges brought against him are serious.
