Tia Mowry Allows Daughter To See Her Sadness From Divorce
Tia Mowry allows her daughter to see her sadness after her divorce. She knows she can’t just shut off her emotions, especially on something as life-changing as a divorce. Mowry shares her thoughts on being truthful with her emotions.
Tia Mowry Full Time Actor, Full Time Mom
Tia Mowry is a well-known American actress recognized for her talent in the sitcom Sister, Sister she was in with her twin sister Tamera Mowry. The two continued acting together and starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie Twitches.
This also got a sequel which they starred in, Twitches Too. Then, they were in a fantasy comedy, Seventeen Again. No, it was not the one with Zac Efron. In addition, the two voiced the LaBelle sisters for the animated series Detention.
Although, Tia has done plenty of separate roles throughout her career. Tia starred in the series Family Reunion on Netflix along with Instant Mom and The Game. Now, she has her reality TV show that began airing on WEtv, Tia Mowry: My Next Act. As much as she loves acting, she also loves being a mom.
The Family Reunion actress is a mom of two to 13-year-old Cree and 6-year-old Cairo. Both of which she shares with her ex-husband, Cory Hardrict. They married in 2008 and divorced in April 2023. According to Entertainment Tonight who reportedly gained access to the divorce paperwork, Mowry filed due to “irreconcilable differences.”
Sad Times
Even though Tia Mowry filed for divorce that doesn’t mean she isn’t entitled to being sad about it and as she recently expressed, she can’t discuss things with her sister due to her having her own family. Therefore, it seems Tia feels kind of alone and expresses her emotions whenever she needs to even if it means in front of her children.
After previously telling PEOPLE about life as a single mom and “always being in survival mode” almost a year ago today, it’s interesting to see how things have changed. She seemed to be making sure she was taking care of herself along with the children. Thankfully, she realized that it’s harder to take care of others if you’re not taking care of yourself.
On Friday, October 4th at the Hollywood premiere of her reality TV series, she discussed how she battles with showing her emotions in front of her young kids, especially Cairo since she is so young.
The actress explained, “I’ve made the choice to move from an authentic place. And allow [Cairo] to see that there are days when Mommy is sad. And that’s okay.” Additionally, she noted how it seems Cairo “feels my energy.”
The Power Of Children
Furthermore, she shared a time when Cairo had given her a “worry doll.” The young child did this to help her mother’s “worries go away.” This showing of emotions isn’t a debate for just Mowry it’s for everyone. Thus, she expressed, “The thing is as a mother, you kind of try to figure out if you should allow them to see your emotions, your ups, and your downs.”
