Wendy Williams’ Ex Claims She Hid $48 Million From Him
Wendy Williams’ ex-husband Kevin Hunter is attempting to overturn their divorce. He claims that the former talk show host hid $48 million from him in their divorce settlement. Continue reading to see what Kevin is asking from the court.
Kevin Hunter Thinks He Was Cheated In His Divorce
Kevin Hunter is petitioning the court to “vacate and set aside” the judgment from their divorce. He cites the reasons for this request as “fraud, misrepresentation, and misconduct.”
A Wells Fargo report from May 2019, which is when they got divorced, showed that Wendy Williams had $7,319,032.25 listed as her “total holdings.” However, her best friend Regina Schell submitted an affidavit alleging that Wendy actually had a total of $55 million in her accounts in 2022.
This sent up dollar signs for Kevin. He alleged that the extra $48 million was “fraudulently” concealed during the divorce proceedings.
Because the initial Wells Fargo report was submitted by Wendy’s financial guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, she responded to the claims that the TV host had an extra $48 million.
“I cannot address what [Regina] thinks she saw or heard, what a third person thinks she heard, or what that third person may or may not have reported to [Regina],” Sabrina wrote in the filing. “In his papers, [Kevin] affirmatively states that [Wendy] showed [Regina] her financial statements. [Kevin] was not there and has no personal knowledge of whether or not this interaction occurred.”
Additionally, Sabrina pointed out that Wendy Williams’ ex was aware that the former talk show host had multiple accounts. At the time, he said he was “fully satisfied and understood the process.” Sabrina Morrissey also pointed out that Kevin consulted with professionals and has no reason to reopen the divorce proceedings.
Does Sabrina Have The Right To Represent Wendy Williams?
Of course, Wendy’s best friend Regina Schell plays a significant role in how this is unfolding. In the affidavit, Regina said that she stayed with Wendy for an extended period of time in July 2022. It was during this visit that Regina claims she saw Wendy’s Wells Fargo statements.
At the time, Regina says that Wendy was considering changing banks. As she discussed this, she showed her the statements, which appeared to display a cumulative balance of almost $55 million.
Then, days later, Wendy’s publicist heard Sabrina tell Wendy that there was no money in any of her accounts.
Kevin Hunter has been in an ongoing battle with Wendy’s guardian in court. He stopped receiving payments from the couple’s marriage settlement and it seems like Kevin might be hurting for money without it.
Additionally, Kevin has questioned whether or not Sabrina Morrissey has the right to represent Wendy Williams in New Jersey. Because Sabrina is a financial guardian in New York, her standing in Jersey is questionable.
A judge in the divorce case has asked Sabrina to prove to the court that she has the authority to represent Wendy in the Garden State. She has 21 days to do so.
